HP and Barang Barang Award Winner of The “Guess and Win” Contest

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia, 22 December 2008 – Hewlett-Packard (M) Sdn Bhd and Barang Barang Lifestyle Sdn Bhd today announced the winner for the HP “Guess and Win” contest, a follow-up to the recent launch of the HP Digital Living Solution Showcase which was held in One Utama from 23rd to 27th October 2008.

HP & Barang Barang “Guess and Win” contest was opened to all Malaysians. Participants were required to guess the total value of the HP products and Barang Barang furniture that were displayed in the living terrace during the HP Digital Living Solutions Showcase. Winners were shortlisted based on the closest guess to the actual value.

A ceremony was held at the Barang Barang Showroom located at Ikano Power Centre, Mutiara Damansara to fete the winner and hand over the prizes. Alex Chang, Consumer Business Solutions Development Manager, Personal Systems Group, Hewlett-Packard (M) Sdn Bhd (HP Malaysia), Tracy Sin, Market Development Manager, Consumer Notebook, Personal Systems Group, HP Malaysia, Frankie Chan, Market Development Manager, Consumer Desktop & Handheld, Personal Systems Group, HP Malaysia, Mr. Lim Kok Hui, Managing Director, Barang Barang Lifestyle Sdn Bhd and Mr. Ken Lam, General Manager, Barang Barang Lifestyle Sdn Bhd were present to jointly perform the prize presentation.

We believe through this Digital Living Solution showcase, the possibility to enjoy a personal cinema, jukebox, photo gallery as well as photo-lab whilst running a business and surfing the web all at the touch of a button would be deemed promising as HP continues to champion the digital living concept for the Malaysians, in line with our HP Computer is Personal campaign,” added Lee.

The winner of the contest was Mr. Ikmal Nizam Ariffin who guessed the value of the living terrace at RM46, 767, nearest to the actual value of the living terrace displayed during the HP Digital Living Solution Showcase in One Utama which was RM46, 734. He walked away with exciting prizes from HP including the HP M9000 Media Centre PC, HP iPAQ 912 and living room furnishings such as TV stand, coffee table, 3-seater sofa and easy chair from Barang Barang.

“This is the best birthday gift I’ve ever received as this is the first time participating and winning a contest. I would like to thank HP and Barang Barang for organizing such an exciting contest”, said Mr. Ikmal Nizam Ariffin, 32, from Kuala Lumpur. He spent ten days to derive to the value of the products with the help from his beloved wife.
