#SaySomethingNice 2013 – RESTORING LOST ROOTS THROUGH PICTURES

NIKON TO HOLD THREE MONTH CAMPAIGN TO HIGHLIGHT MALAYSIAN VALUES

30 August 2013, Kuala Lumpur – ‘Gotong-royong’, ‘terima kasih’, ‘Wau Bulan’, ‘wayang kulit’ and ‘Chinese Mask Changing’ are among the many fading facets of society which captures the essence of Malaysia. Aimed at rekindling a flame amongst Malaysians that may have been lost, Nikon took on the initiative to organize the #SaySomethingNice 2013 Campaign, a photo competition for Nikon users to capture the essence of Malaysia.

According to David Ng, General Manager of Consumer Products Marketing, “This campaign aims to get Nikon users to go all out in portraying the voice and practices of Malaysia through pictures. It is a platform that will bring to life the lost lifestyle and culture of Malaysia that lies hidden in the various states across our beautiful country.”

#SaySomethingNice 2013 Campaign will be held nationwide for a period of three months beginning August 31, 2013, comprising five categories which include:
Malaysian Arts & Culture
Education
Welfare
Community Involvement
Global Environment Conservation

Participants are encouraged to submit more than one photo, and each picture will be shown in Nikon’s official website throughout the campaign. Shortlisted participants with the best photo will be presented with a Certificate of Appreciation and the winning photo will be exhibited in Nikon Brand Store at Berjaya Times Square or Tropicana City Mall. Submitted images are to be related to the selected categories but most importantly, it has to represent Malaysia.

“This will be an exciting campaign as it provides the right atmosphere for inspired and enthusiastic photographers to share their views on Malaysia. It is also a reminder to us that we never forget the roots which formed Malaysia, despite the modernization we are experiencing”, said David Ng,

“Campaigns like this play a key role in reiterating the bond that Malaysians have, and it is only through pictures where messages are being sent and interpreted, with lasting impact that could be upon the society and countries for years to come. Memories that can be immortalized through pictures, speaks a thousand words. Nikon seeks to help consumers in creating their life chapter and with the right camera, anything is possible. These are the core essence that Nikon stands for, creating cameras that are able to make memories “at the heart of the image”, Ng continued.

#SaySomethingNice Campaign 2013 in an initiative introduced by Zubedy and Nikon is proud to be the only camera product brand to be a part of this. #SaySomethingNice Campaign 2013 is open to all Nikon users only, however the pictures are open for the public to view at http://www.nikonclub.com.my/pages/Insight.aspx?id=450.  Members who seek to enquire for more information can get in touch with a Nikon Club representative by emailing nikoncentre_kl@nikon-asia.com, or by calling +603 – 2142 0218.
