BAT GSD獲獎

BAT GSD Awarded Best Mature Shared Services Organisation in Asia

KUALA LUMPUR, 5th September 2007 – British American Tobacco Group Service Delivery (GSD) today said that it is honoured to have received the award for Best Mature Shared Services Organisation at the 2007 Asian Shared Services Excellence Awards which was held in Singapore recently. This win for GSD comes on the back of its recent win in the same category for the Europe Shared Services Excellence Awards.

This award recognises the most successful and established Shared Services Organisation (SSO) in Asia that has been in operations for over three years. The nominees are judged based on organizational growth and challenges overcome, how the SSO contributes to the overall success of the organization, the use of technology and cost and process efficiencies gained.

According to the judging panel, GSD’s strengths were its broad base IT focus and long history of developing into a centre of shared service excellence, impressive performance and cost savings to-date and the ability to continually improve its Customer Satisfaction Scores.

Dominic Holland, Head of GSD commented that this award further sanctioned GSD’s strategy to become a truly world class Shared Services organization.
He said: “Two awards in three months is simply fantastic. I am proud to be a part of an organization like GSD that has continually raised the bar whilst leading the way in demonstrating best practices within BAT Shared Services. To win the award for the Best Mature Shared Services Organisation in Asia is made that much sweeter as it comes from a panel of highly esteemed judges who are leaders within the SS field.”

Tan Kok Meng, Head of GSD KL represented GSD at the award ceremony. In his speech, he said: "This award belongs to everyone in GSD. I would like to thank all my colleagues in GSD across the world, all 700 of them from more than 30 locations, for their passion and commitment in overcoming the numerous challenges and changes since we started eight years ago.”

Recognised globally as the highest, most prestigious accolade for Shared Services, the Shared Services Excellence Awards were established to honour, recognise and promote Shared Services Organisations (SSOs) that demonstrate true best practices. This is the second year that the Asian awards were held. Last year’s winner was the Manila Services Centre of P&G Asia Global Business Services. The awards are judged by a leading panel of experts in the SSO industry.
