According to Aaron Tan Dani, Asia Pacific Chairman, IASA “We are especially encouraged by this year’s overwhelming attendance for ITARC KL 2008. The keynote address, topics and workshops will educate, inform and discuss the critical role software architects and architecture play in today’s rapidly evolving ICT industry. I am also honoured that we have been given strong endorsement by the government and key industry players to continue with our mandate of making our profession one that provides a steadfast backbone for the overall development process of the industry.”
The Information Technology Architectural Regional Conference Kuala Lumpur 2008 (ITARC KL) is organized in line with IASA Malaysia’s efforts to drive awareness and understanding of the field in the nation. The symposium will feature over 30 seminars and tracks on Enterprise, Infrastructure, Software and Fundamentals, all of which are specially designed to help architects at kick start their skills to the next level.
Speaking at the event, YB Datuk Maximus Ongkili, Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation said “I believe that we are at the cusp of something very special in Malaysia. As a developing nation with a firm eye on meeting the objectives of 2020, Malaysia is very much advanced than many other developing nations when it comes to ICT. While we can be suitably proud of our achievements, there is still a lot to do in order for our nation to reach the technological levels of our regional neighbors like South Korea and Taiwan. This push can only be achieved by the active participation of the private sector.
He concluded, “With organizations like IASA spearheading these changes, providing platforms for key industry software leaders to exchange thoughts and information, discuss the growing and challenging ICT landscape we continue to face, I am confident we will see the fruits of our hard labour.”
IASA Malaysia also is also committed to providing forums for peer networking; being a beacon for emerging architecture issues; advocating the views of architects for the good of the nation and industry; as well as promoting ethical conduct and respect for intellectual property.
