Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – 16 May 2008 – Motorola, Inc (NYSE:MOT), the global leader in mobile entertainment, launched the much awaited addition to the ROKR family of music products – the ROKR E8 – in Southeast Asia recently.
A multiple award winner at CES 2008, including the coveted Best of CES, the ROKR E8 features the breakthrough ModeShift™ technology from Motorola that presents users with the controls they need, when they need them, instantly morphing from phone to music player and vice versa at the touch of a button.
Yet, with innovative vibrating haptics technology, users still get the tactile feedback of a traditional keypad, providing confirmation that they have pressed a virtual key.
“The iconic ROKR E8, along with the EQ5 & EQ7 wireless speakers systems, empowers you to indulge in whatever music you desire, whenever you want it and however you enjoy it, whether in private or in a party of friends. Hence, the ‘Music You’ experiential launch showcases the unique features of the ROKR E8 and its family of products in four exciting zones located at four distinctive entertainment outlets,” said Ian Chapman-Banks, Vice President, Asia Pacific Marketing, Mobile Devices.
The first beat was the Speed Zone. With USB 2.0, swift music transfer was clearly illustrated via live demonstrations when more than 90 songs were downloaded to the ROKR E8 in less than three and a half minutes.
The rhythm picked up at the Sound Zone, where the Motorola proprietary CrystalTalk™ technology soared with outstanding voice quality, even in noisy environments, by cutting out background clutter. When paired with the ROKR S9 Bluetooth stereo headset, music becomes personal. This is made possible by surround sound with SRS WOW HD™ technology, reduced ambient noise and redesigned ear buds which fit snugly in your ears.
Modeshift™ technology took the spotlight in the Design Zone, profiling its chameleon-like ability to transform from phone to music player to camera modes effortlessly, all with the touch of a button. Coupled with the new FastScroll™ navigation wheel from Motorola, scrolling through hundreds of songs stored in the 2GB built-in memory using variable-speed touch control is simply a breeze.
