KUALA LUMPUR - 16 July 2008 – Motorola, Inc (NYSE: MOT) today announced that it has been awarded the GfK Asia No. 1 Award in Malaysia by GfK Group in the Retail and Technology Segment’s Headset Category, recognising the company’s leadership in headset sales performance from January to December 2007. This is currently the award’s fourth instalment since its inception and covers 90% of the Malaysian retail market.
Out of the 80,000 headset units sold by various brands in Malaysia for the year 2007, the Award recognized Motorola’s H700 Bluetooth® Headset as the top performer for Motorola, ranking number one in the RM200-RM249 headset category. It also garnered top spot for headsets sold in bundle.
Additionally, Motorola’s H680 Bluetooth® Headset and MOTOROKR™ S9 Universal Bluetooth® Stereo headphone also took home top honours by ranking highest in the RM250-RM299 and Stereo Headsets Top 10 categories respectively.

As quoted in GfK’s December 2007 report, Bluetooth® headset sales had grown steadily compared to previous periods. Unit sales increased by a steady margin of 7.8% while year-on-year trends remain on track as it recorded a 131% increase over second half of 2006. Bluetooth® headsets’ value growth improved slightly; at a rate of only 79% over the same period in 2006.
