RAFFLES EDUCATION CORP COLLEGE IN COLLABORATION WITH EC-COUNCIL

Raffles’s InfoComm Security program to integrate EC-Council Certified Ethical Hacker certification (CEH)

SINGAPORE, October 7, 2008 – Raffles Education Corp College (REC College) today announced its collaboration with EC-Council, which will see the integration of the EC-Council Certified Ethical Hacker certification (CEH) into one of the modules of Raffles’ Advanced Diploma in InfoComm Security.

The Advanced Diploma in InfoComm Security was introduced in REC College in response to the rising rates of cyber crimes affecting organizations worldwide. The course provides students with comprehensive academic qualifications and certifications encompassing the ICT security market.

Ms Jenny Wong, Centre Director of REC College Singapore says, “One of the core values that sets REC College apart from other institutions is our drive to provide students with an education that goes beyond textbooks and classrooms. We focus on skills and industry experience which in turn will mold the careers of our students.”

“Through the integration of the EC-Council Certified Ethical Hacker certification (CEH), an international leader in security certification, into the InfoComm Security program, we hope that the students will not only be equipped with the necessary knowledge, but it is also our objective that the successfully certified students will emerge more marketable compared to their peers in the job market,” continued Ms Wong.

CEH Program certifies individuals in the specific network security discipline of Ethical Hacking from a vendor-neutral perspective. Certified Ethical Hackers are skilled professionals who understand and are able to locate the weaknesses and vulnerabilities of a target system and use the same knowledge and tools used by hacker.

Mr Leonard Chin, the Director of Marketing for EC-Council, shares the significance of the partnership, “We applaud Raffles’ visionary move to incorporate CEH into their program. The regions’ keen interest in security investments will lead to a demand for certified professionals, and students from Raffles will be at the forefront in addressing this demand.”
EC-Council certification is provided at over 400 active training centers across 60 nations.
