TEKLA AND VNIX ESTABLISHES BUILDING INFORMATION MODELLING (BIM) ALLIANCE

Kuala Lumpur, November 11, 2008 – Tekla (M) Sdn Bhd (Tekla Malaysia) recently embarked on an alliance with VNIX Pte Ltd (VNIX), marking VNIX as Tekla’s first service partner in the region. The partnership will involve the combined core competencies of both partners, offering a one-stop solution for customers. Tekla will bring its expertise in Building Information Modelling (BIM) software and training to the partnership, while VNIX will enhance it with its high level consultation, resulting in the smooth implementation of BIM processes for their customers.

BIM is a solution which uses computer modeling to simulate the development, construction and operation of a facility. Tekla Structures is a premium-brand 3D building information modeling (BIM) software used in building and construction industries. The solution helps to create, open, combine and manage data-rich and highly constructable 3D structural models, enabling engineers and constructors to navigate around them in real-time, and to review the model using tools included in the software.

Also under the terms of the partnership, Tekla, which is the leading 3D BIM software provider for the construction industry globally, will make available its software solution for Structural 3D Modelling. Meanwhile, VNIX, with its extensive experience in structural 3D modelling and having worked on over hundreds of projects, will provide qualified personnel and consultation for seamless project management, based on Tekla's software. VNIX is well poised to play this role as it is one of the pioneer users, and is well-supported by a pool of professional designers capable of running Tekla Structures.

VNIX’s Managing Director, David Lim said, “To continue our lead in the 3D BIM modelling, architectural, structural designs, detailing and rendering space in the industry, we are constantly looking for new ways and means to exceed our clients’ expectation and innovative ideas that give us the quantum leap. This has lead to the formation of this partnership with Tekla Malaysia.

Commenting on the newly formed partnership with VNIX, Ari Nassi, Managing Director, Tekla Malaysia said, “VNIX’s decision to partner with Tekla Malaysia is a testament to the BIM solution developed by our Finnish and Malaysian Product Development teams. It also demonstrates VNIX’s confidence in a number of our leading products, like BIM software and Tekla Structures, to name a few.

“Without exception, we believe this strategic partnership will provide the much-needed and comprehensive expertise to support the modelling industry, resulting in a richer customer experience while ensuring the smooth implementation of BIM processes for our customers.
