Ultrabooks, tablets & treats at PC Expo 2011 KL starting Nov 4

Shoppers can look forward to the start of the year-end PC Expo 2011,
which starts tomorrow Nov 4 at Mid Valley Exhibition Centre (MVEC), Kuala Lumpur.

NOVEMBER 3, 2011, KUALA LUMPUR – Final preparations for the year-end PC Expo 2011 is near completion. The first leg of the Expo will be held at Mid Valley Exhibition Centre (MVEC) in Kuala Lumpur and starts tomorrow, November 4 until November 6. According EM Exhibitions (M) Sdn Bhd project director Jeslynn Wong Lee Chen, shoppers at PC Expo 2011 Kuala Lumpur can look forward to a wide selection especially ultrabooks, tablets, digital cameras and Android-powered smartphones.

Early bird shoppers at the Expo can take advantage of several treats including special offers of RM10 for a 4GB Sandisk USB drive and RM139 for a 500GB Buffalo external hard disk in addition to the many seasonal offers, bargains and best buys. “Visitors to PC Expo 2011 Kuala Lumpur at MVEC can enjoy these special offers, at 12pm and 5pm for the 4GB Sandisk USB drive and 1pm and 6pm for the 500GB Buffalo External Hard Disk,” she said. PC Expo 2011 is created and organised by EM Exhibitions.

In addition, shoppers are rewarded with cash stamps. “We are rewarding shoppers with cash vouchers. For example, shoppers can redeem 20 stamps with a PC Expo 2011 RM20 cash voucher.” She said shoppers can also look forward to PC Expo 2011 Lucky Draw, which includes prizes like wireless mouse and external hard disks.

Visitors to the Expo can take part in Register&Win where prizes include Samsung Galaxy SII, Acer Ultrabook S3 and Asus Transformer Slider. “They can also take part at our RM1 Auctions, where prices start from RM1, and Happy Hour Sales,” she said, adding auction items include Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1s, Samsung Galaxy SIIs, iPhone4s, iPad2s and more. Shoppers who are Maybank card members are rewarded with a complimentary Nando’s voucher when charging more than RM500 with Maybankard. Shoppers are also entitled to gifts ranging from mugs to electrical appliances when using RHB Card at the Expo.

Numerous exhibitors representing Acer, Buffalo, Canon, Celcom, Digi, D-Link, Digi, Fujitsu, Garmin, HP, HTC, Lenovo, Logitech, Nikon, P1, Panasonic, Papago!, Sensonic, Sony, Toshiba, UMobile , ViewSonic and Western Digital are prepping at PC Expo 2011 Kuala Lumpur to attract shoppers with seasonal offers and promotional bargains.

The current economic challenges have galvanised many of the exhibitors to sweeten their promotional offers. “Shoppers at PC Expo 2011 Kuala Lumpur will experience firsthand that price points of many devices, like large liquid crystal display (LCD) monitors, printers and digital cameras, have largely been revised downwards,” she said. These revisions are said to increase the affordability of many devices and counter weak consumer sentiments. “It means shoppers can afford to take home a much larger LCD monitor at a much more attractive price.”

Consumer interest remain particularly strong for ultrabooks, super thin notebooks or devices comparable with Apple Inc.’s MacBook Air. “The popularity of conventional notebooks is under siege from tablets like Apple iPad2 and Samsung Galaxy Tabs, with tablet’s well known lighter weight, near-instant-on performance and long battery life. The increasing local interest in ultrabooks represents a new trend. Consumers should benefit from an entirely new generation of ultrabooks, particularly in response to the much-publicised success of MacBook Air,” she said adding ultrabooks to make their presence at PC Expo 2011 will probably include Acer Aspire S3, Fujitsu Lifebook SH76/E, Lenovo IdeaPad U300s and Toshiba Portege Z830.

She said the lines are fast blurring between tablets and ultrabooks. “We are coming to a crossroad where consumers will have to prioritise their digital lifestyle needs and determine if it can be better served by a tablet or ultrabook,” she said. Apart from Apple iPad2s, she said tablet options range from the new Lenovo IdeaPad K.1 to HTC Flyer and Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1.
The year-end PC Expo 2011 will feature accessories for tablets especially for Apple iPads, iPad2s, HTC Flyers and Samsung Galaxy Tabs. “Well-reviewed devices like the new Logitech Wireless Headset, Logitech Tablet Speaker for iPad and Logitech Keyboard Case for iPad2 will certainly entice iPad users at PC Expo 2011 Kuala Lumpur,” she commented, while devices like LogitechTablet Keyboard for Android 3.0 are targeted at Android-powered tablets.

She said new feature-laden digital cameras will appeal to consumers. “The upcoming festive season present good reasons to shop for a digital camera that is easy-to-use and can seamlessly switch between capturing high definition video clips and digital snapshots,” she said. A new line-up like the new Sony Alpha NEX-C3, Panasonic Lumix FZ150, Panasonic Lumix FZ48, Nikon 1 J1 and Nikon 1 V1, will keep shoppers busy comparing features at the Expo.

PC Expo 2011 has build a strong social network presence. “We recognise the online following of PC Expo and giving away a new Apple iPhone 4 as the grand prize for our PC Expo Facebook “Like & Win” (www.facebook.com/pcexpo) contest where. These are just a few of several other activities that we have lined up to commemorate the year-end edition of PC Expo 2011.”
Asides Kuala Lumpur, the Expo will be held in several venues nationwide like Kluang Mall in Kluang, November 18 to 20 and Alor Star Mall in Alor Setar, December 16 – 18. More information is available at www.pcexpo.com.my.
