RadioShack opens first Southeast Asian outlet in Mid Valley Mega Mall

RM 30,000 worth of product vouchers reserved for Grand Launch on 13 September

Malaysians can now benefit from a single-stop-shop for personal technology and electronics solutions. Leading US-based RadioShack opens in Mid Valley Mega Mall today, its first in Southeast Asia.

Located on the second floor of the mall, the 1,300 square foot store of this established American heritage brand offers innovative mobile technology products and services, as well as products related to personal and home technology and power supply needs, all under one roof.

RadioShack will also open several store-in-stores carrying more limited stocks beginning with Borders at the Gardens Mall in mid-September followed by Borders at The Curve and Borders at Tropicana City Mall; another stand-alone store will open in Berjaya Times Square by the end of October.

“There is a growing lifestyle trend in electronics and gadgets whereby accessories and IT peripherals are an integral part of modern urban life across varying ages and occupations. We recognise that there is a need, and an opportunity, for a more friendly and “human” approach to putting technology into the hands of these people, many of whom may not necessarily understand it but want and have use for it”, said Yau Su Peng, Chief Operating Officer of Berjaya RadioShack Sdn. Bhd. which owns the RadioShack franchise.

Yau added, “The RadioShack experience is presented in a comfortable and convenient shopping environment with tech-helpful staff who will take the mystery out of the complexities of technology in the language that the customer understands – from layman to tech-savvy to geek-speak. With RadioShack, you are assured not only of getting genuine, dependable products that will not let you down but also value for money solutions that suit your budget”.

Yau further announced that a Grand Launch event is planned for 13 September 2012 at Mid Valley Mega Mall where RM 30,000 worth of RadioShack product vouchers have been reserved for distribution to the public. “Everyone is invited to be part of this landmark occasion and those interested should check out our Facebook page for more details”, she said adding each person is entitled to only one voucher.
