This November, PC Expo 2012 continues with a strong focus on mobile digital lifestyle devices, services and accessories
OCTOBER 19, 2012, KUALA LUMPUR – The year-end PC Expo 2012 continues with a sharper focus about mobile digital lifestyles with its second leg this November.
The popular three-day digital lifestyle PC Expo is scheduled to continue next month at four remaining locations; November 2 – 4 at Mid Valley Exhibition Centre (MVEC) in Kuala Lumpur, Penang International Sports Arena in Penang and Persada Johor Convention Centre in Johor Bahru, and November 9 - 11 at Melaka International Trade Centre in Melaka.
Preparations for Kuala Lumpur PC Expo 2012 at MVEC as well as other venues are underway and gearing to be a hit with consumers. “Asides mobility, end-users are considering readiness for Windows 8 and its impact,” she said, adding more than 300,000 shoppers are expected at the second leg of PC Expo 2012. “We estimate about 180,000 smart shoppers will converge at Kuala Lumpur PC Expo 2012 to search for digital lifestyle enhancements,” she adds exhibitors are ready to showcase Windows 8-ready devices and lining year-end promotional offers.
According EM Exhibitions (M) Sdn Bhd project director Jeslynn Wong Lee Chen, the focus on mobile digital lifestyles is reflective of consumer needs, particularly among the young, trendy and fashion-conscious. “We expect such demand to soon follow in other locations like Sg. Petani, Tawau, Kluang and others. Mobile Internet access penetration rate is surely increasing with mobile Internet service providers offering competitive rates and plans plus devices like smartphones and tablets have already become staple choices of youths.”
Major mobile Internet and mobile operators participating at KL PC Expo 2012 include Telekom Malaysia Berhad (MVEC Booth 331), Packet One Networks (M) Sdn Bhd (MVEC Booth 332), U Mobile Sdn Bhd (MVEC Booth 333) and YTL Communications Sdn Bhd (MVEC Booth 330).

She said asides a mobile digital lifestyle, exhibitors are excited to highlight readiness for Windows 8. For example, Logitech Malaysia will highlight its theme, “Navigate the possibilities” by showcasing its vast series of devices, compatible and ready for Windows 8, mobile devices and tablets. As an added incentive, consumers who purchase RM50 and above can participate in Logitech Dip & Win, which has 1,500 prizes worth RM20,000, including a 32-inch LED television, iPod Shuffles, digital cameras and more.
Lenovo Malaysia will highlight its innovative 13-inch, 360 degrees flip-and-fold IdeaPad YOGA. This ultrabook can be placed in four modes; “Tent” (it can stand on its edges), “Stand” (with its keyboard laid flat against the desk like a display), “Laptop” and “Tablet”. The YOGA is powered by a 3rd generation Intel Core processor and designed for Windows 8. It will retail during PC Expo starting at RM3,599.
Meanwhile, notebook accessories are continuing is streak of popularity with consumers. Ingen DSS Sdn Bhd will be hawking La Folie lifestyle notebook bags from its KYA, Hannah, Cagliari and FontainBleau series. The purchase of a notebook bag is entitled to a 20 per cent discount for a second bag.
