Red Hat Asia Pacific Further Expands to Support Interest in Open Source Technologies across the Region


New Appointments are Geared to Strengthen the Asia Pacific Business

KUALA  LUMPUR – October 11, 2012 – Red Hat, Inc. (NYSE: RHT), the world’s leading provider of open source solutions, today announced six appointments across the Asia Pacific region to support market interest in open source technologies and the company‘s growth plans across the region.

The appointments include the General Manager of India, General Manager of the Greater China region, Director of Services for APAC and three newly created roles to support the growing market demands for open source technologies - platform, cloud computing, storage, virtualization and middleware.

Arun Kumar, Senior Director of Business Development for Asia Pacific, has been promoted to General Manager of Red Hat India. Kumar has been with Red Hat since 1999, serving in multiple leadership positions in the US and Asia Pacific region.

The General Manager of Red Hat Greater China is Dr. Sen Ming Chang, a 25-year veteran in the industry and a renowned figure in the Chinese open source world. Dr. Chang will be responsible for developing the sales and business strategy and direction for Red Hat’s business across China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan.

Sachin Shridhar has been appointed as senior director of services and will manage the Pre-Sales, Consulting (Global Professional Services) and Training (Global Learning Services) teams in Red Hat Asia Pacific.

The three Business Unit Managers – Glenn West for Cloud Computing, Ryoichiro Tsuruno for Platform and Vishal Ghariwala for Middleware – are APAC resources in a combined Product Manager, Product Marketing Manager, and Sales / Channels Operations role.

Given the demand for a team of dedicated technology specialists for Asia Pacific, all three BU Managers will work closely with local and regional managers to meet the specific needs of customers in Asia Pacific.
