He beats other bloggers from Malaysia and Singapore to win flights, hotel stays and travel allowance to explore the Philippines!
KUALA LUMPUR 4 April, 2013 – “The Search for the Cebu Pacific Juan Blogger” in Malaysia and Singapore is complete! Today, Samuel Chew from Malaysia was named as the first ever blogger ambassador for Cebu Pacific Air (PSE:CEB), the Philippines' largest national flag carrier.
"Samuel’s very creative and entertaining safety demo dance video represents Cebu Pacific’s young and fun culture. Readers of his blog will soon be able to learn more about Cebu Pacific and how fun it is in the Philippines over the course of the year. We look forward to welcoming Samuel to the Philippines soon,” said Candice Iyog, Cebu Pacific Vice President for Marketing and Distribution.
As the "CEB Juan Blogger," Samuel (from seraphsam.com) and a friend will travel to four destinations in the Philippines, where they will enjoy two nights hotel stays in each destination with compliments from Agoda.com. They will explore key cities in the Philippines including Manila and Cebu, as well as two of the 32 other domestic destinations CEB flies to, such as Iloilo, Clark, Palawan or Davao.
In addition, Visa is rewarding them with US$2,000 in travel allowance. Samuel will also have the chance to take part in the Visa Scavenger Hunt Challenge. By uncovering hidden gems and completing specific challenges in each destination, Samuel stands to win up to US$400 additional travel allowance during his travels.
“To try and make my video stand out, I studied past videos of the Cebu Pacific dancing cabin crew on YouTube before choreographing my own modern and creative take, using different locations and props to make my video unique. I even danced in a pond and set the floor alight! I had so much fun making the video and I’m really proud of how it turned out. I have heard so much about the Philippines and can’t wait for my first trip!” said Samuel Chew.
The newly-crowned Juan Blogger will keep friends and family back home updated on his latest adventures through his blog (http://www.seraphsam.com//) and twitter account (https://twitter.com/seraphsam).
The online contest was open to bloggers from both Malaysia and Singapore, with the top ten videos chosen via public votes. The other top nine entries each won a pair of tickets from Kuala Lumpur to Cebu or from Singapore to Iloilo.
“Juan,” in the Filipino language, refers to the everyman, a key market for CEB given its trademark low fares.
