MSTB舉辦亞洲首屆SOFTEC 2013

會議列為在該地區最大型的英語授課的軟件測試活動

吉隆坡,2013年8月19日(星期一) - 超過25名國際演講者將參加即將在亞洲舉行的首屆SOFTEC 2013(一個區域級的軟件測試大會),其中包括在有關軟件測試和就业要求各領域的思想領袖和經驗豐富的专业人士。

在馬來西亞軟件測試中心(Malaysian Software Testing Hub,MSTH)的倡議下并由馬來西亞軟件測試局(Malaysian Software Testing Board,MSTB)所主辦,亞洲SOFTEC2013將从九月2日至5日在雙威度假酒店及水療 (Sunway Resort Hotel and Spa)舉行。Mesiniaga BERHAD是为大會的合作夥伴。

在配合亞洲SOFTEC 2013的举行下,MSTB也將舉辦首屆亞太軟件質量網絡軌道的董事會會議(Asia Software Quality Network, ASQN)。 ASQN 專注於促進亚洲地區軟件質量。除了日本和馬來西亞,ASQN的成員還包括中國,越南,菲律賓,泰國和新加坡。

MSTB总监Mastura Abu Samah表示,首屆亞洲SOFTEC2013在軟件測試和軟件質量保證的一個重要的里程碑,也同时推崇馬來西亞為全球市場的軟件測試服務的主要樞紐的定位。

“這次會議將有來自世界各地的軟件測試和軟件質量保證的專家和經驗豐富的從業者到此。亞洲SOFTEC 2013將呈現一個千載難逢的機會,讓从业者從他們身上學习。”

自2008年以來,MSTB设SOFTEC作為一個國家級的會議,本次活動吸引了來自其他在近年來都表示有兴趣参加的亞洲國家。升级至區域級SOFTEC会议是一個自然性的地域擴展覆蓋。

SOFTEC Asia 2013 Speakers (Partial list)


1. Dr. Mark J. Kiemele
President and Co-founder, Air Academy Associates, USA

Mark has more than 30 years of teaching, consulting, and coaching experience.  Having trained, consulted, or mentored more than 30,000 leaders, scientists, engineers, managers, trainers, practitioners, and college students from more than 20 countries, he is world-renowned for his Knowledge Based KISS (Keep It Simple Statistically) approach to engaging practitioners in applying performance improvement methods.  

Mark earned a B.S. and M.S. in Mathematics from North Dakota State University and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Texas A&M University.  During his time in the U.S. Air Force, Mark supported the design, development, and testing of various weapon systems, including the Maverick and Cruise Missile systems, and was a professor at the U.S. Air Force Academy.  He currently serves on the National Defense Industrial Association’s Test and Evaluation Executive Committee

2. Erik van Veenendaal
Founder, Improve Quality Services BV, Bonaire (Netherland)

Erik van Veenendaal is an internationally recognised testing expert, author of a number of books and has published a large number of papers within the profession. He is also one of the core developers of the TMap testing methodology and the TMMi test improvement model.

Erik was vice-president of the International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB) from 2005 till 2009 and is currently the board member of the TMMi Foundation. He is a regular keynote and tutorial speaker at international testing conferences. For his major contribution to the field of testing, Erik received the "European Testing Excellence Award" in December, 2007.

3. Lee Copeland
Consultant, Software Quality Engineering (SQE), USA

Lee has over thirty years experience as an information systems professional. He has held a number of technical and managerial positions with commercial and non-profit organizations in the areas of applications development, software testing, and software development process improvement. 

As a consultant with Software Quality Engineering, Copeland has developed and taught numerous training courses focusing on software development and testing based on his extensive experience. In addition, he provides consulting services to clients. He is a well-known and highly regarded speaker at software conferences both in the United States and internationally. 

4. Prof.  Motoei Azuma
Waseda University, Japan

Motoei AZUMA is an Emeritus Professor at Waseda University, Tokyo, Japan.  He had been a Professor at Department of Industrial and Management Systems Engineering, Faculty of Science and Engineering, Waseda University since 1987 and retired in 2010. Before joining Waseda University, he contributed to establish NEC Software Product Engineering Laboratory in 1980 as the head of Department of Software Management Technologies. He is a member of IEEE and Information Processing Society of Japan, etc.  

His research field includes Software Engineering, Information Systems Engineering, and Systems and Software Quality.  He has authored more than 20 books, and also contributed as a program committee chair and members of many international conferences including ICSE, COMPSAC and AQuIS. 

He has been the convener of ISO/IEC JTC1/SC7/WG6 (Software Product and Systems Quality) since it was established in 1991.  He also had contributed as the prime project editor of ISO/IEC 9126 (Software product quality) series, ISO/IEC 14598 (Software product evaluation) series, and ISO/IEC 250nn SQuaRE (Systems and Software Quality Requirements and Evaluation) series of standard project.

5. Jon Hagar
Principal, Grand Software Testing, USA

Jon Hagar is a systems-software engineer and tester supporting software product integrity, verification, and validation with a specialisation in embedded software systems. 

For more than thirty years Jon has worked in software engineering, particularly testing/verification and validation. He has supported include the space shuttle, large rockets, spacecraft, and ground systems as well as testing new smart phones. Jon has managed and built embedded test labs including supportive automation development. 

6. Dr. Nishi Yasuharu 
Assistant Professor, Department of Informatics, University of Electro-Communications, Tokyo

Dr. Nishi is a visionary leader on software testing in Japan, where he researches and consults for industries on software testing, quality, safety, process improvement and TQM. He is currently the President of the Association of Software Test Engineering (ASTER), an industry-wide organisation for software testing technology in Japan. 

He is also a founder of Japan Symposium on Software Testing (JaSST) and JSTQB, Japan Software Testing Qualifications Board (JSTQB).

7. John Fodeh
Testing practice lead for the Nordics, Cognizant, Denmark

John has several years of experience in the field of software testing, quality management and process improvement. John is an active member of a Danish special interest group in software testing and is a frequent speaker at testing conferences. 

He holds a MSc. from the Technical University of Denmark and an ISEB practitioner certificate in software testing. John was the programme chair for EuroSTAR 2010.

8. Rob Sabourin
President & Principal Consultant, AmiBug.Com Inc

Rob has more than 25 years of management experience leading teams of software development professionals. A well-respected member of the software engineering community, Rob has managed, trained, mentored and coached hundreds of top professionals in the field. 

He frequently speaks at conferences and writes on software engineering, SQA, testing, management, and internationalisation. 
Rob wrote I am a Bug!, the popular software testing children’s book; works as an adjunct professor of software engineering at McGill University; and serves as the principle consultant (and president/janitor) of AmiBug.Com.

9. Chris Rupp
SOPHIST Ltd & President, IREB , Germany 

Chris, who has over 15 years experience in the field of systems engineering, founded SOPHIST Ltd which has grown to become a company of 40-strong employees. The vision that guides her is the compelling force to put good ideas into practice in a way that gives developers, contract partners and users the feeling that they are dealing with a sophisticated, elaborate and beneficial product.  

Other than that her personal preferences (too many for too little time) are people, philosophy, red wine, travelling, and the search for the meaning of life.
Chris is the current President of the International Requirement Engineering Board (IREB).

10. Gary Gack
Founder and President of Process-Fusion.net, USA

Gary has more than 40 years of diverse experience in the software and IT industry, including more than 20 years focused on process improvement as well as problem project assessment and recovery.  He is the author of numerous articles and a forthcoming book entitled “Managing the Black Hole: The Executive’s Guide to Software Project Risk.” 

He holds an MBA from the Wharton School and is a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.  In addition, he is an ASQ Certified Software Quality Engineer (CSQE), a Certified Scrum Master, a Visiting Scientist with the Software Engineering Institute (2006) where he co-authored Measuring for Performance Driven Improvement 1, a course that he is an authorized instructor and holds the ITIL Foundation Certification.  

11. Prof. Dr. Ina Schieferdecker
Head, Competence Center for Modelling & Testing for System & Service Solution
Fraunhofer Institute on Open Communication Systems (FOKUS), Germany

Prof. Schieferdecker studied Mathematical Computer Science at Humboldt-University Berlin and did her PhD in 1994 at Technical University Berlin on performance-extended specifications and analysis of QoS characteristics. Since 1997, she heads the Competence Centre for Testing, Interoperability and Performance (TIP) at FOKUS and is heading now the Competence Centre Modelling and Testing for System and Service Solutions (MOTION). 

She is also Professor on Engineering and Testing of Telecommunication Systems at Technical University Berlin since 2003. 

Prof. Schieferdecker works since 1994 in the area of design, analysis, testing and evaluation of communication systems using specification-based techniques like UML (Unified Modelling Language), MSC (Message Sequence Charts) and TTCN-3 (Testing and Test Contro Notation). 


12. Dr. Sigrid Eldh
Senior Specialist, Software Test, Ericsson, Sweden

Sigrid is a well known leader in the software testing field, with more than 25 years of practice in the industry. She holds a M.Sc. in Computer Science from Uppsala University, and a PhD from Mälardalen University "On Test Design".

Having held many positions at Ericsson, HP, Governance and other type of companies, she is now working at Ericsson AB at Radio System & Technology with test strategies and research, an adjunct lecturer at Karlstad University and is also associated as an expert at Mälardalen University. 

She was the co-founder of SAST, ASTA, ISTQB and SSTB. Through her work she has helped organisations, test managers and testers around the world to reach better quality.

13. Rex Black
CEO, Rex Black Consulting Services (RBCS), USA

With a quarter-century of software and systems engineering experience, Rex is currently the President of American Software Testing Qualifications Board (ASTQB) and the President of RBCS (www.rbcs-us.com), a leader in software, hardware and systems testing. 

Rex has been described as a prolific author practicing in the field of software testing today. His popular first book, Managing the Testing Process, has sold over 30,000 copies around the world, with translation in several languages including Japanese, Chinese and Indian releases. 

Rex was the President of the International Software testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB)  in 2008.

14. Prof. Dr. Jasbir Dhaliwal
Larry Papasan Professor; Associate Dean for Research and Academic Programs; and 
Director, Systems Testing Excellence Program, FedEx Institute of Technology
University of Memphis, USA

Jasbir is Professor of Information Systems and serves as Associate Dean for Research and Academic Programs at the University of Memphis. He is also the founding director of the Systems Testing Excellence Program (STEP) at the FedEx Institute of Technology. The STEP initiative (step.memphis.edu) represents the largest international group of academic researchers focused intensively on advancing the science of software testing.

He is a graduate of the University of Malaya and holds master and doctoral degrees from the University of British Columbia in Canada. Over the years he has published many scholarly papers in the top research journals in information systems and has also consulted extensively to large software development and testing organisations in Asia, Europe and North America.

15. Prof. Dr. Klaus Pohl
Director, Institute for Computer Science and Business Information, University Duisburg-Essen, Germany

Klaus holds a full professorship for Software Systems Engineering at the Institute for Computer Science and Business Information Systems (ICB) at University of Duisburg-Essen, Germany and an adjunct-professorship at the University of Limerick, Ireland. 

He is the coordinator of the FP 7 Network of Excellence S Cube (Software Services and Systems Network) and is member, among others, of the steering committee and the executive board of the European Technology Platform NESSI (Networked European Software and Services Initiative) and the steering committee of the German Innovation-Alliance SPES 2020 (Software Platform for Embedded Systems). 

His research interests include requirements engineering, service-based system engineering, software quality assurance, and software product lines. 


16. Werner Lieblang
Managing Partner, Díaz & Hilterscheid Unternehmensberatung GmbH, Germany

Werner’s career has covered a wide variety of different aspects, starting with software development, continuing with leading electro-technical projects and leading to consultancy in software quality assurance. In the 80’s he developed safety-critical software for railway points systems. The consequences of a software failure in the railway operations resulted in software quality being in focus even in those days. 

After changing to the automotive industry, Werner was responsible at ABB Flexible Powertrain Assembly for the entire software of the production lines for motors and gear-boxes. He further intensified his know-how in the area of software quality assurance after a change to SQS AG in 1999, where he worked as a head of department. Since 2005 he is Managing Partner at Díaz & Hilterscheid Unternehmensberatung GmbH.

At the GTB, Werner is a member of the glossary and marketing working groups, whereby he is also particularly interested in the marketing side at ISTQB® level. 

17. Thomas McCoy
Australian Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs

Australian software testing professional, teacher, and journalist Thomas McCoy has worked in the IT industry for more than two decades. Much of this time was spent as a software developer and IT manager with Australian government agencies. 

Wanting to make a greater contribution to software quality, Thomas re-oriented his career into the emerging discipline of software testing and has been an enthusiastic promoter of the profession ever since. At conferences in Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and the US, Thomas is a popular keynote speaker, who has received several best presentation awards. 

18. Laura Hagar
QA and Configuration Management Practitioner

Laura Hagar has 40 years in IT and computer.  She has practiced QA and CM for over 15 years in the Web, IT, and database worlds. 

She has established CM tools, project process, and conducted CM activities in support of tester.  Laura brings CM case history and lessons learned to her presentations of this important engineering support activity.
