吉隆坡 7月6 日讯: 技术技能乃是软件测试工作的先决条件，然而，同样卓越的软性技能也是掌握优越测试能力所不可或缺。即将举行的 SOFTEC 2012 将更专注于这个比较不为人注意的范围。

SOFTEC 2012 的主题为‘测试艺术’，它是与会代表们更了解测试领域之细节的平台，尤其是在测试技巧，有效应用技巧，以及其他软性技能等方面，以便为成功的测试项目和方法作出贡献。

已进入第五届的 SOFTEC 2012 是由马来西亚软件测试局(MSTB)举办的年度软件测试大会，将于 7 月 10 至 12 日在吉隆坡的 Istana 酒店举行。

总共有 14 位享誉国际的专家，业者和思想领袖将在超过 20 场进修班及工作坊上传授他们的知识和分享经验。预料将出席这项三天大会者包括超过 400 名软件专业人士，商界经理，学术人员和政府官员。

"SOFTEC 2012 的主要宗旨之一是提升我国软件专业人士在软件测试方面的熟练水平，"马来西亚软件测试局主席 Mastura Abu Samah 如是透露。"我们可以向大会主讲人多多学习，不论是通过他们主持的进修班或直接与他们交流。"

为了进一步丰富该大会的内容，SOFTEC 2012 已添加了一项新特点 - 即 Test。 该Test Lab 的作用是为代表们提供一个通过亲自动手工作坊和讲座以深入了解测试工具的管道。

各本地大学也将首次直接参加 SOFTEC，即通过一场学术讨论会，成为研究生研究工作坊@SOFTEC2012。今年，预料将有九名大学研究生在该学术讨论会上提呈与软件测试课题有关的研究报告(尚未完成)。一个由各本地大学讲师和 SOFTEC 2012 主讲人组成的评审团将对这些研究报告提供意见和改善的建议。

Software Testing Courses To Be Held In Conjunction With SOFTEC 2008

The Malaysian Software Testing Board (MSTB) is offering IT professionals and fresh
graduates who are eligible to the golden opportunity to take a six days preparatory
course for the ISTQB Certified Tester Advanced Level examination towards achieving an
international certification that would give the testers a marked competitive advantage.

“Professional qualification opens the door to the desired career path, but professional
certification often gives a competitive edge in any given field. It is not so different in the

in the Software lifecycle, Test Processes, Test Management, Risk Based Testing,
Incident Management, Optimization of Test Processes and Team Composition.

Delivered by top experts in the testing industry, the ISTQB Certified Tester Advanced
Course in Software Testing for Test Manager is an accredited training course, designed
to help prepare you for the ISTQB Certified Tester Advanced Level Examination. This
course is designed for anyone who would like to gain an internationally recognized
professional qualification in software testing.

The ISTQB Certified Testing Qualification is accredited by the International Software

TOP SOFTWARE TESTING EXPERTS TO ATTEND INAUGURAL MSTB SOFTWARE TESTING CONFERENCE 2008

The President of the International Software Testing Qualification Board (ISTQB), Rex Black will be in Malaysia for the very first time and leading top international and national software testing experts and academician at the inaugural Software Testing Conference 2008 (SOFTEC 2008) that will be held here in Kuala Lumpur from 27 – 28 August 2008.

Organized by the Malaysian Software Testing Board (MSTB) its main features include keynote addresses on Five Testing Best Practices, Toward A Science of Software Testing: Advance & Innovations from Research and Internet – Of – Things: Tester Beware that will be delivered respectively by Rex Black, Professor Keith Osman, Director of Research for the Technology Innovation Centre at Birmingham City University and Professor Jasbir Dhaliwal, Head of System Testing Excellence Program (STEP) of University of Memphis.

A milestone event the inaugural SOFTEC 08 carries the theme Testing To The Next Level and is expected to be attended by professionals in the IT industry and academic sectors alike, as well as policy makers.

The conference will offer participants rare insights into the Software Testing industry landscape, practices and opportunities brought by the many international and Malaysian speakers at this event. She indicated that a study conducted by National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), U.S. Department of Commerce in 2002 (the most recent comprehensive data available) reports that software bugs cost the U.S. economy $59.5 billion annually in terms of losses such as lost businesses opportunities, failed transactions and reinvestments needed to repair damage done by such failures. More than a third of this cost could be avoided if better software testing was performed.

“However, the supply of the human resources is not at par with the demand due to the small number of certified professional testers in Malaysia, and lack of awareness about software testing as a career. SOFTEC 08 will be the platform for Malaysian IT industry to raise the profile of software testing at national and regional level, with invitational international and national speakers who will be delivering keynote addresses as well as engaging in the MSTB Software Testing Colloquium planned as part of the conference.

The ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation course organized during the conference will be delivered by experts in the testing industry. It is an accredited training course recognized by Pembangunan Sumber Manusia Berhad (PSMB) that has been designed to help prepare participants for the ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level examination towards gaining a world-recognized ISTQB certification.

A pool of international and national speakers will be presenting their respective papers throughout the two days conference and among them are Wonil Kwon, CEO of STA Korea who is also the President of Korea Testing Board, Daisuke Azuma from Japan Novel; Bernard Homes, Founder of TESSCO Technologies Inc and Head of R&D of Eurocopter, France; and Aditya Garg, Vice President of Pure Testing Pte Ltd, one of the leading testing companies in India.
