The multiple award-winning Philips Fidelio Soundbar HTL9100 is the first to feature detachable wireless side speakers that when removed, changes the soundbar from virtual surround sound to 5.1 channel surround sound on demand.  The HTL9100 features a wireless subwoofer with the stylish high-end design consumers have come to love and expect from the Fidelio line.

The Philips Fidelio HTL9100 Soundbar is a clever and simple wireless system that provides consumers with the convenience of saving on space in their homes without the hassle of dealing with a mess of wires thereby enjoying a truly cinematic experience in the comfort of one’s own home.

According to the WOOX Innovations Malaysia, Business Leader, Mr. Andrew Tan, the Philips Fidelio SoundBar HTL9100 is the first of its kind to feature wireless detachable speakers that automatically changes the soundbar from Virtual Surround Sound to 5.1 Channel Surround Sound on Demand when the speakers are removed from the main console.

Design
A sleek black silver banded cylindrical artifact, the Philips Fidelio HTL9100 is a minimalist masterpiece designed specifically for people who have limited space.  The ends can be removed to become wireless rear satellite speakers, communicating with the main unit via 5.8GHz signal to avoid interference from Wi-Fi or Bluetooth signals.  They run on rechargeable batteries that last up to 10 hours before returning to the main bar to be recharged.

Surround sound
The exploded configuration of the Fidelio HTL9100 surrounds the listener with two 1-inch tweeters and four 2.5-inch midrange drivers.

科泰(Elcoteq)集團收購菲利浦在墨西哥的平板電視製造業務

香港2008年9月8日-- Elcoteq SE（科泰集團公司）今天簽訂協議，購買菲利浦在墨西哥胡阿雷斯（Juarez）的平板電視（FTV）組裝業務。這項收購以及相關合作協議將進一步提升科泰於強勁增長的平板電視行業內電子製造服務(EMS)領軍公司的地位。這筆交易還包括與菲利浦（納斯達克交易代碼：PHG，阿姆斯特丹交易所交易代碼：PHI）簽訂長期合作協議，向其在拉丁美洲的平板電視業務及其在美洲的菲利浦商業行政（PBS）業務提供製造服務，以及與船井電機株式會社（東京和大阪交易所交易代碼：6839）簽訂長期合作協議，向其在北美的平板電視業務提供製造服務。

Philips-Cetree Energy Efficient Mobile Showhome Makes a Stop at Philips Malaysia Offices

Petaling Jaya, May 22nd, 2008 – The Philips-Cetree Energy Efficient Mobile showhome today visited the Philips Malaysia offices at Menara Axis, Petaling Jaya, launching the second phase of Philips Malaysia’s A Simple Switch campaign which last year brought the education of energy efficiency to rural areas nationwide.

The visit, officiated by Dr. R. Kumar, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Philips Malaysia Sdn Bhd saw the employees of Philips Malaysia pledge to make a simple switch to an energy efficient lifestyle by signing the A Simple Switch banner. The employees were also introduced to the technology and products featured in the showhome.

“Philips Malaysia is very serious about our social responsibility programs with the local community,” said Dr. R. Kumar, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Philips Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. “In June last year, we launched the Philips-Cetree Mobile Showhome to address energy issues by educating people in rural areas on the need for energy conservation and alternative energy sources.”

He added that the success of the roadshows in 2007 led Philips Malaysia to continue in their collaboration with Cetree in bringing the education of energy efficiency to primary schoolchildren across Malaysia.

“We selected primary schools as the next phase as Philips believes that living an energy-efficient lifestyle should be a habit cultivated from childhood. Furthermore, the effort is in-line with the government’s 2008 Budget initiative to promote the education of energy efficiency and the use of renewable energy.” said Dr. Kumar.

The first roadshow of the second phase will be launched at Sekolah Kebangsaan Klang Gate, Gombak on June 12th, 2008 where the Philips-Cetree Energy-Efficient Mobile Showhome will act as an ambassador, showcasing renewable energy sources and providing simple tips on how to save energy on a daily basis to the school children. The children will also be able to participate in specially designed games such as energy-focused versions of ‘Monopoly’ and ‘Snakes & Ladders’.
There will also be an exchange activity where students can bring an incandescent lightbulb to be exchanged for a Philips energy saving lightbulb, and a ‘pledge wall’ for students to pin their energy-saving resolutions to lead an energy-efficient lifestyle.

With the demand for electricity growing faster than the country’s economy, ways have to be found to conserve energy. The Philips-Cetree Energy-Efficient Mobile Showhome contains five knowledge kiosks – General Knowledge on Renewable Energy, Energy-Efficient Electrical Equipment, Solar Thermal, Solar Electric and Biomass – comprising of simple activities that give practical experience. Believe it or not, the engine is designed to run on 100% palm oil.

“It is important that awareness on energy efficiency is cultivated at a young age, as the efficient use of energy should begin at home and in the classroom, which can then expand to businesses and communities. This will reduce the need to use up natural resources, and preserve the environment for generations to come,” said Cetree Task Manager (Mobile Exhibition Unit) & Chief Secretariat, Badrol Hisham bin Mohd Nowani “Therefore, it is important that we drive awareness on the benefits of using energy-efficient items or equipment, which we will continue with the aid of the Mobile Showhome.”

The Philips-Cetree Energy-Efficient Mobile Showhome will be traveling to various schools in Selangor, Melaka, Pahang and Penang over the next few months.
