AIR NATIONAL GUARD RECRUITS BLUE COAT SYSTEMS FOR WAN OPTIMIZATION TO MORE THAN 200 LOCATIONS

MALAYSIA – August 28, 2007 – Blue Coat Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: BCSI), leader in WAN Application Delivery and Secure Web Gateway, today announced that the Air National Guard has selected Blue Coat® ProxySG® appliances to accelerate applications and reduce bandwidth consumption across its Wide Area Network (WAN) to its more than 200 locations throughout the United States and its territories. The appliances will also protect Air National Guard Internet access points from malware and other security threats and control applications according to policy.

On any given day the Air National Guard conducts para-rescue missions, modular airborne fire fighting support, combat communications and air traffic control. The ProxySG appliances can be centrally managed and deployed at each Air National Guard location to accelerate content and applications, overcome current WAN bandwidth limitations and provide flexibility for future applications and controls.
