IRIS獲土耳其電子護照系統工程合約

IRIS Secures Contract for Electronic Passport Issuing Systems in Joint Venture in Turkey

KUALA LUMPUR, 14th August 2007 – IRIS Corporation Berhad (IRIS) through its wholly owned subsidiary IRIS Technologies (M) Sdn. Bhd. and its joint venture Turkish partner Kunt Elektronik San. ve Tic. A.S. (Kunt) has entered into an agreement with the Government of Turkey to supply electronic passport issuing systems.

IRIS together with its partner Kunt, has secured the contract through an international tender issued by the Government of Turkey. The tender award followed the recent completion of the delivery of 5 million electronic passport inlays by IRIS for the country’s e-Passport project.
The contract provides for the supply of e-Passport enrolment & issuance systems, Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) solutions and e-Passport personalization equipment over a 16-month period. The procurement of the e-Passport issuing systems enables the Turkish authority to issue International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) compliant e-Passports to its citizens at more than 200 locations.

The solution will include the state-of-the-art Card Management System called IdenCraft. As a comprehensive and flexible Smart Card Management System, IdenCraft handles security, inventory, workflow and lifecycle requirements in a highly flexible and structured manner.

“Our success in securing this project demonstrates our ability to provide complete end-to-end solutions for an ICAO e-passport system in a highly competitive market in Europe” said Dato’ Tan Say Jim, Managing Director of IRIS Corporation Berhad.
