Intec APAC HQ in Kuala Lumpur Pivotal to its Expansion in Asia Pacific

Kuala Lumpur - September 18, 2007 - Intec, a global provider of business and operations support systems (BSS/OSS) which is celebrating its 10th successful year of operations this month, has identified the pivotal role of its Malaysia HQ in its rapid growth in the Asia Pacific region. With revenues from the region having grown at a compound annual growth rate of 65% in the last five years, Intec expects 2007 to be another key year for its Asia Pacific operation.

“Intec Asia Pacific was the company’s fastest-growing region in recent periods, and is now a major contributor to its global revenues,” said Norm Halvorson, Vice President of Intec Asia Pacific. “We have expanded our Kuala Lumpur HQ, one of the company’s four global Centres of Excellence, four-fold since 2002, and out of Intec’s 1700 employees worldwide over 35% are now based in Asia Pacific.”

“Intec Asia Pacific will continue to invest substantially into enhancing the facilities of its Kuala Lumpur HQ and in raising its human capital investment in the KL market to both underpin our growing business in the Asia Pacific region and to support our global success,” he added.

In the last ten years Intec Asia Pacific has won many of the region’s largest carriers as customers, including China Mobile, Reliance Communications, Bharti, Maxis, Telekom Malaysia, Telstra, SingTel Optus, Hutchison 3G, Indosat and True Move. Intec remains committed to long-term growth in Asia Pacific and particularly to investment in the region to expand the skills and capability of its staff to deliver and support the most complex systems available.

“Intec was one of the first OSS/BSS vendors to establish a presence in Malaysia,” said Intec’s Chief Operating Officer, Gary Bunney. “We have maintained a very strong commitment to growing the HQ in Kuala Lumpur to support our burgeoning opportunities in the Asia Pacific region. Our reward has been tremendous growth and a very large and growing loyal customer base. Some of our largest and fastest-growing installations worldwide are supported out of Kuala Lumpur and we see this rapid growth trend as likely to continue.”

Intec is the world’s leading player in both interconnect billing and convergent mediation, as well as one of the top three vendors of retail billing software and associated services, according to reports from analysts such as Frost & Sullivan and Gartner Group. The company has built a reputation for both technical excellence and strong customer care:

“Intec’s solutions are highly accredited in the market as a result of proven convergent technology, high flexibility and ability to scale to significant traffic volumes, which are all key factors in the Asia Pacific Market,” said Norm Halvorson. “Customers in this region tend to be fast-moving, technically advanced, high growth organizations with very large subscriber bases. They need software support systems that can scale to match their growth and with the inherent performance and flexibility to cope with rapid change in business models.”
