New O2 applications available now!

O2 has successfully launched two new software applications to support the Xda Atom Life, Flame & Zinc.

These new applications are available as a free download to existing and new customers. They are available for download direct to your device via O2 Connect, or via the O2 website, as found below.

The Applications:
O2 Smart Text
Summary:
This application supports touch screen devices with a feature phone-like experience for data entry in text and email etc. The user can use the stylus as well if preferred, as this can still be easier than the smaller Qwerty keyboard.

Once installed it can be activated for use from the input method option found in the centre of the screen.

This is offered as a free addition to help usability and productivity worth approx US$10 RRP.

The key attributes:

· Big buttons for easy one-finger input
· Predictive text support
· Multi-tap support for complete user flexibility and easy switching to predictive text
· Support for English and Chinese input depending on the ROM

O2 Backup

Summary:
Saving personal data is a key requirement and valuable experience to a customer.

This application will allow customers to backup and reinstall personal data on the move. If customers do not have a PC to synchronize with ActiveSync to Outlook, they can still back up data, or transfer it to a new compatible device.

The application can back up SMS, which is often the most important information.

This is a simple and effective experience for key data backup, being offered free and worth around US$15-20 RRP.
