CommunicAsia2008 and BroadcastAsia2008, Asia’s premier trade events for the infocomm and media industries will play host to companies who are making significant contributions in these vibrant industries.
At CommunicAsia2008, the WiMAX and IPTV/mobile entertainment clusters are larger than ever, with more exhibitors presenting the latest in these hot technologies. Other highlights will include Satellite communications and Next-Generation Networks vendors who will provide a sneak peak at connectivity solutions. This year, visitors will see the biggest ever 1,700 square metre Singapore Pavilion at CommunicAsia. The Singapore Pavilion will also be the biggest pavilion at the show.
Internet giant, Yahoo will preview search applications for mobile users using intuitive mini Web pages to present search results on mobile screens and voice recognition technology at CommunicAsia2008. A particular field which also has a strong showing of exhibitors is from location based services (LBS) and navigation solutions. Catch leading companies such as Garmin, NAVTEQ and Tele Atlas who will be on site to share their latest offerings and announcements.
NAVTEQ will be hosting for the first time in Asia Pacific, the NAVTEQ Global LBS Challenge. This year’s global prize pool, consisting of cash and data licenses, is the largest ever worth over USD4.5 million. Tele Atlas will be on site with the Mobile Mapping Van – a first in Asia. The van is designed to take 360 degree images of the streets. This helps to provide a 3D view for the company’s Mobile Mapping System.
“CommunicAsia and BroadcastAsia are key events in the ICT world in Asia. Each year, the exhibitors wow us with what they present at the show, and this year will be no different. I believe many companies at both exhibitions will have very exciting news for the technology world come this June.” said Mr Stephen Tan, Chief Executive of Singapore Exhibition Services (SES).
