Epicor Announces Availability of Epicor ITSM 2009

IT Service Management Solution Delivers Increased Performance, Enhanced Portal Deployment Capabilities and Broader Language Support

Epicor Software Corporation (NASDAQ: EPIC), a leading provider of enterprise business software solutions for the midmarket and divisions of Global 1000 companies, today announced the release of Epicor ITSM 2009, the newest and most advanced version of Epicor’s IT Service Management solution.

“Epicor ITSM 2009 is a benchmark of Epicor’s continued success in supporting the needs for today’s enterprises by providing tools and leveraging the latest technologies to enable optimal performance, greater flexibility and extended global support of IT service operations,” said James Norwood, vice president of product marketing for Epicor.

ITSM Helps Malaysian Companies Achieve Gains
According to a survey by the Malaysia Chapter of the Information Technology Services Management Forum (itSMF) in 2008, more than three quarters (or 78 percent) of Malaysian organizations have realized significant business gains by implementing an information technology service management (ITSM) framework. In fact, 29 percent acknowledged a high level of improvement in meeting their business requirements and customers’ satisfaction through ITSM.

Bolstered Performance and Stability to Support IT Service
Effective IT service management centers on technology stability and minimized downtime. Epicor ITSM 2009 provides even greater stability and performance through the support of Windows Server 2008 and Microsoft SQL Server 2008, and the 64-bit versions of Windows Server 2008 and the Windows Vista operating systems, connecting Epicor’s sophisticated IT service management solution with Microsoft Corp.’s newest technology foundations.
“Epicor continues to embrace leading Microsoft technologies such as the 64-bit versions of Windows 2008 Server and Windows Vista, to enable their customers to achieve optimal performance in running critical enterprise applications like Epicor ITSM,” said Kim Akers, general manager for worldwide ISVs at Microsoft.

Greater Global Connectivity through Portal Enhancements
Geographic borders continue to shrink in an increasingly connected world economy. In order to support geographically distributed IT personnel and their customers, Epicor ITSM includes an enhanced self-service and field service portal available in numerous languages to put self-service in the hands of employees in the field and around the globe.

Epicor ITSM including ITSM portal provides for the following language packs: Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Dutch, English US, English UK, Estonian, French, German, Greek, Hungarian, Russian, and Spanish. Epicor ITSM 2009 is also expected to support Arabic, Polish, Portuguese, and Swedish later this year. The 2009 release also includes an advanced software development kit (SDK), providing the tools to deploy and extend comprehensive portal capabilities as well as the necessary documentation and examples to adjust existing functionality and create new functionality.
