Motorola Launches New TETRA Solution for Commercial and Enterprise Customers in Asia Pacific

SINGAPORE – June 18, 2009 - Motorola, Inc. (NYSE: MOT), world leader in the development and deployment of TETRA communication solutions, today announced that its new TETRA solution, Dimetra LiTE, is now available in over 15 countries in Asia Pacific. Dimetra LiTE extends the reach of TETRA in delivering cost effective and easy to deploy solutions and will be available to commercial and enterprise users through Motorola’s authorized partners in the various markets including Bangladesh, Bhutan, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.

“We see a positive trend across regions for more and more enterprise customers adopting TETRA for digital trunking communications due to its affordability,” said Phey Teck Moh, vice president, Motorola Enterprise Mobility Solutions, Asia Pacific. “As the world’s largest TETRA supplier, Motorola has a proven track record of providing scalable TETRA IP solutions from small single-site deployments to nation-wide solutions. The launch of Dimetra LiTE reaffirms our broad and expanding portfolio of TETRA solutions that enable enterprise customers to do their jobs effectively.” The easy to deploy, Dimetra LiTE solution builds on Motorola’s Dimetra IP family of TETRA solutions which already have a proven track record of deployment across Asia Pacific in delivering mission critical communications. Dimetra LiTE supports features such as integrated voice and data services and full duplex IP telephony calls – critical to enterprise users such as utility, gaming, transportation, small airports, small seaports, resorts and large hotels. This compact switch also provides an interface to conventional analog systems making it ideally suited for operators upgrading from analogue to advanced digital solutions and requiring a smooth migration path.

Dimetra LiTE uses the field proven range of TETRA Base Stations which deliver market leading performance and coverage. The radio site is linked to Dimetra LiTE using standard Ethernet interface which means saving on the cost of leased lines and the remote access function allows system monitoring and diagnostics to be done centrally which can further reduce maintenance costs. Motorola’s TETRA solutions have been designed to be affordable and cost effective in serving multiple users with its flexibility in scale and type of deployment, range of TETRA terminals such as the MTP850 and breadth of integrated data applications.

Motorola’s complete portfolio of TETRA solutions with infrastructure, terminals, applications and services are now in use in over 90 countries worldwide. The company’s long history of innovation in the two-way radio industry stretches back to 1938 with the introduction of the Police Cruiser Radio Receiver and it has maintained its position at the forefront of TETRA. Recent innovations include the MTP850Ex TETRA portable terminal – a class leading ATEX device allowing use when in environments containing potentially explosive gas and dust.

In Hong Kong, Motorola has appointed Cyber On-Air (Asia) Ltd. as its first authorized partner for Dimetra LiTE for the hospitality sector, namely resorts and large hotels.
