Malaysian post-production house, MFX Adopts Sophisticated Technology with Autodesk Flame VFX Software for Business Expansion

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia, Oct. 31, 2011 – The increasingly competitive content creation and development environment in the creative multimedia industry has led production houses across the region to seek sophisticated and efficient technology to boost their operations.

Local post-production house MFX recently upgraded to Autodesk Flame VFX 2012 coupled with Autodesk Flare for their high-end post-production and finishing facility in Kuala Lumpur. In the last 10 years MFX has risen to receive international recognition for their work in commercial, film, web based animation and design projects. Some of their notable projects include Petronas ‘Synthium’, Petronas ‘PLI’, Garuda ‘Fleet Revitalization’, Gillette ‘Offense & Defense’ and Mitsubishi ‘Shopping’. The recent upgrade to more sophisticated technology and tools is part of their commitment to better equip their digital artists with new tools and extended capabilities to pave way for more opportunities in this challenging environment.

“The upgrade to Autodesk Flame helps our digital artists deliver better work quality within tight deadlines with its high-performance, scalable 3D visual effect, design, and finishing. The end result we hope to create is industry-leading visual effects and reduced time spent in post-production and finishing as the tool also helps build a more flexible workflow through cross-pipeline collaboration. This software adds significant value to our work and we expect a rapid return on our technology investment as we continue to meet and exceed client expectations,” said Belinda Teoh, Senior Producer at MFX.

“In fact we had considered using a node-based compositor software often used for film and television post-production. However, we needed a creative toolset such as Autodesk Flame for a more superior experience in supervised post. The digital post-production environment is getting very competitive and complex and therefore we are continuously looking for ways to enhance our offerings,” added Teoh.

MFX has been using Digital Entertainment Creation (DEC) software from Autodesk such as Autodesk Flint and Maya for the last 8 years and had recently added Autodesk Flare and Flame to create more innovative content through integrated digital production environment that support creativity and improve efficiency. They have worked on several landmark projects in Malaysia with clients such as Proton, Mitsubishi and Petronas. For more information, please visit www.mfx.st.
