Celebrate the New Year with cool bargains & hot savings at PC Expo 2011 Johor Bahru this week at Persada Johor International Convention Centre, December 30, 2011 to January 1, 2012.
DECEMBER 27, 2011, KUALA LUMPUR – Shop at PC Expo 2011 Johor Bahru this week and enjoy many New Year offers and bargains for consumer digital lifestyle devices like tablets and accessories. The three-day Expo will be held at Persada Johor International Convention Centre, from December 30, 2011 to January 1, 2012. According EM Exhibitions (M) Sdn Bhd project director Jeslynn Wong Lee Chen, this is the first time the Expo will be held “straddling” two years. “We will be ushering in this unique occasion with plenty of activities, fun games and special draws for visitors and shoppers alike,” she said.
The popular Expo will see a wide array of participating exhibitors including major participants like Digi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd, Hewlett-Packard (M) Sdn Bhd, Logitech Singapore Pte Ltd, MCL Bhd and Sony (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd. It will also feature local digital consumer retailers like Camera Zone Sdn Bhd, Grex Multimedia, ITStore Sdn Bhd, Khin Guan Corporation Sdn Bhd, Navotech Technology Sdn Bhd and Style Vision Sdn Bhd.
“As school reopens next week, we anticipate a large turnout at the Expo. Most students, families and entrepreneurs would take this opportunity to shop at the Expo and make ready for the coming new year,” she said, adding more than 70,000 shoppers are expected at the Expo this week. PC Expo 2011 is created and organised by EM Exhibitions.
She said Expo visitors are best placed to take advantage of year-end offers and bargains, especially for alternative tablets. For example, Andron IT Solutions Technology Sdn Bhd will be offering an Android 2.3.3 -based tablet, complete with a built-in 4GB memory and 2.0 mega pixel digital camera at RM299 instead of its retail price of RM499.
Another exhibitor, Grex Multimedia, will be offering the Lenovo K1 Tablet at RM999, instead of its retail price of RM1,299 while PCS Telecommunications will be touting a range of tablets from Samsung and HTC, like the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 and Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0plus, both at RM1,699 each and HTC Flyer (Model P510e) at RM1,299. MaxQ Multimedia Sdn Bhd will also be offering its new Android-powered 7-inch tablet, MaxQ X7-3G, at an introductory offer of RM799 instead of RM999. “Tablet devices are currently trendy. Based from our observation, there exists pent-up demand for tablets at the RM1,000 price category. Shoppers will find a variety of options of tablets in this specific price category at the Expo this week.”
Apart from tablets, entry-level digital cameras, large screen LCD TVs and surprisingly digital projectors are also in demand. For example, Khin Guan, will be offering special deals for 19-inch to 32-inch LED and LCD television sets from as low as RM399 (for a 19-inch Toshiba LCD Model 19HV10E) to RM999 (for a 32-inch Toshiba LCD Model 32PB10E). On the higher end, visitors can also shop and opt for LG 3D monitors, at RM1,599 for a 32-inch LG 3D monitor, complete with two sets of 3D eye wear or full HD, 42-inch LG TVs at RM1,699. “Consumers understand the LCD or LED TV has evolved to essentially become a digital hub for the family with numerous functions like viewing digital images, video clips and more. This notion has taken a life of its own and becoming a lifestyle.” However, she said 3D displays are still viewed as novelty items but has a large potential.
Meanwhile MCL will be rewarding shoppers with a series of New year presents for purchases of InFocus IN122 at RM1,399 including a RM200 voucher or 6 feet projector wall screen or 2.1 speaker system. The IN122 is rated at 2,700 ANSI Lumens with a 6,000 hours lamp life and displays at a resolution rate of 800 X 600 (SVGA). MCL will also be offering special purchase-with-purchase offers including a Sensonic F10 2.1 Speaker System at RM29.90, Sensonic HVX220 cordless headset at RM49.90 and Sensonic UX6000 cordless keyboard and mouse at RM49.90. These offers are valid for any purchase above RM50.
Mobile and fixed line broadband operators like Celcom Mobile Sdn Bhd, Digi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd, Packet One Networks (M) Sdn Bhd, U Mobile Sdn Bhd, Telekom Malaysia Berhad and YTL Communications Sdn Bhd are also participating. Visitors can expect a variety of mobile and fixed line broadband subscriptions packages, like entry level rate of RM19 per month from P1, she said.
There will be surprise visits from “God of Wealth” (Choy San) to the Expo, generously rewarding mystery gifts including shopping vouchers, T-Shirts and more to visitors. “Chinese New Year is actually in four weeks and the presence of the “God of Wealth” will be both exciting and auspicious for our visitors,” she said adding the “God of Wealth” is scheduled to visit three times at 2.00pm, 4.00pm and 8.00pm.
Special offers like RM10 for a 4GB Sandisk USB drive and RM169 for a 500GB Buffalo External Hard disk are also expected to attract visitors. The special offers will be available at two sessions per day; for the former at 12.00pm and 5.00pm while the latter at 1.00pm and 6.00pm. Every session will have 20 units of each device on offer. Visitors can take part in “Register and Win”, where prizes for lucky winners include Samsung Galaxy SII, Acer Ultrabook S3 and Asus Transformer Slider, and “Lucky Draws”, which has numerous prizes including shopping vouchers.
Surprisingly, momentum for PC Expo Facebook has been fast building. The number of friends on PC Expo Facebook has already exceeded 15,000 as of this month. “Our PC Expo Facebook following has been successful and we are organising “Like & Win”, which is a special contest for our Facebook Friends. We are giving away a new Apple iPhone 4S as the top prize,” she said. The Expo will make its way to its final leg January 6, to 8, 2012 at Penang International Sports Arena in Penang.
