Returning exhibitors MEASAT and Telekom Malaysia will ramp up Malaysia’s presence at Asia’s most distinguished ICT business event

KUALA LUMPUR, 31 MAY 2012 – CommunicAsia, EnterpriseIT and BroadcastAsia, the most established infocomm technology (ICT) and media communications event of its kind in Asia, will return with a large showing from 19 to 22 June 2012 at the Marina Bay Sands and Suntec Singapore respectively.

As the premier global business networking platform and launch pad for companies to introduce cutting-edge technologies and solutions, CommunicAsia2012, EnterpriseIT2012 and BroadcastAsia2012 will highlight pertinent industry developments and address emerging trends as well as provide enhanced networking opportunities for industry professionals from around the world.
EnterpriseIT, held in conjunction with CommunicAsia, will showcase innovative applications and end-to-end solutions across the entire value chain and transform the way companies operate and communicate internally and beyond. And once again, the event will present Asia’s largest contingent of satellite companies witnessed at any single event.

Fuelling ICT Sector Crucial for Malaysia’s Economic Growth
Malaysia’s ICT sector has experienced robust growth over the past decade. Rallied by an encouraging eight to 10 per cent growth reported last year, the industry continues to play a crucial role in contributing to Malaysia’s aim of achieving a high income status by 2020 .

With several technology drivers such as mobile computing, mobile broadband and cloud well in place to pave the way, the industry is expected to see further developments with an estimated RM31.5 billion expenditure expected this year, a 6.1 per cent increase from 2011 .

Understanding the growing significance of ICT to economic competitiveness, the business community and government agencies are actively promoting a conducive regulatory environment for emerging technologies like cloud delivery models in attempts to match global standards and expand into foreign markets.
Strong Malaysian Presence at CommunicAsia
Fueled by the emerging industry, visitors to CommunicAsia2012 and EnterpriseIT2012 can once again expect exposure to a wide array of solution providers and industry professionals from Malaysia. The specialised trade shows provide local players the perfect avenue to showcase their products, gain visibility into foreign markets and foster international partnerships with various organisations from around the globe.

Malaysia is set to occupy a presence of about six per cent in the exhibition, the largest participation compared to other ASEAN countries outside of Singapore. The last edition saw participation from more than 90 Malaysian exhibitors.This year, visitors can expect to meet representatives from local telecommunications giants such as Telekom Malaysia, Maxis and Digi Telecommunications led by Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC). Other exhibitors include MEASAT Global, a participant since 2002, Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC) as well as first time exhibitors MIMOS in the segment of Cloud Computing and NIS Solution in Network Performance Solution.
