Canon Delivers High-Speed, High-Quality Scanning to Small Workspaces

Featuring a compact footprint, the Canon imageFORMULA DR-C130 improves efficiency and productivity for small work groups and SOHOS

KUALA LUMPUR, 1 August 2012 – Canon today announced the launch of imageFORMULA DR-C130 – the latest addition to its compact document scanner series. The compact DR-C130 is designed to increase the efficiency and productivity for small work groups, and Small Office and Home Office (SOHOs) where space is a premium.

Speedy, Reliable and Versatile Scanning Solution
Incorporating Canon’s page separation technology and Rapid Recovery features, the DR-C130 ensures prompt, uninterrupted scanning at speeds of up to 30 pages per minute (ppm) or 60 images per minute (ipm) in monochrome or colour. The device delivers fast and reliable scans in a single pass, with an automatic document feeder capacity of 50 sheets for efficient batch scanning.

The DR-C130’s versatile document handling allows the smooth scanning of documents ranging from multi-sheet forms and thick documents to A3 size documents and embossed plastic cards.

At the same time, the bundled CaptureOnTouch software provides ease of access to pre-configured scanning preferences with the Scan-To-Job buttons and route scanned images directly to cloud applications such as Evernote, Google Docs and Microsoft SharePoint. This allows users to work more efficiently by automatically sending scanned documents to collaboration platforms on the cloud that can be accessed by multiple users and even when they are on the go. The versatile scanner also supports high-compression PDF as well as multiple file format options including PDF, PPTX, TIFF and JPEG.

Increased Productivity and Accuracy with Advance Image Processing Features
Equipped with intelligent image processing features, the DR-C130 enhances productivity and delivers accurate image reproductions even when scanning mixed documents simultaneously. The Skip Blank Page function automatically deletes images of blank pages during scanning to prevent redundancy, and the Text Orientation Recognition function, which automatically detects and rotate text in scanned images to the correct orientation, eliminating the hassle of manual editing of scanned documents. The Deskew function also automatically detects skewed documents and corrects the skew.

Other time-saving features incorporated into the DR-C130 include:
• Full Auto Mode automatically applies the best settings for scanning
• Background Smoothing improves legibility of documents
• Auto Color Detection automatically detects and determines if images should be saved in monochrome or colour

Energy- and Cost-Efficient
Using only 1.8W in sleep mode and less than 0.3W when powered off, the DR-C130 scanner is an energy- and cost-efficient solution for SOHOs.

The new imageFORMULA DR-C130 document scanner will be available from August 2012 at authorized Canon distributors and dealers.
