Excitement builds up, Johor Bahru PC Expo 2012 this Friday

Persada Johor International Convention Centre to host 80,000 shoppers at PC Expo 2012 August 3 – 5, 2012

August 1, 2012, KUALA LUMPUR – More than 80,000 shoppers are expected to make their way to PC Expo 2012, held this week at Persada Johor International Convention Centre in Johor Bahru.

According EM Exhibitions (M) Sdn Bhd project director Jeslynn Wong Lee Chen, the Expo will be held August 3 – 5, 2012 with exhibitors featuring a variety of digital lifestyle products and accessories. “Tablets continue to draw lots of attention, followed by smartphones and interestingly, mobile Internet subscription offers which makes a lot of sense.”

She added shoppers can weigh choices between smartphones like Samsung Galaxy Note, Samsung Galaxy SIII, HTC One S and Nokia Lumia 900 and tablets like the new iPad, Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9, Samsung Galaxy Tab 7 Plus and Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 at the Expo.

Digital cameras, all-in-one printers, personal digital media players, storage devices and accessories are also in popular demand. The final leg of PC Expo 2012 will host exhibitors who are consumer digital lifestyle principals and domestic retailers. These exhibitors include Activelansing Technology Sdn Bhd, Canon Marketing (M) Sdn Bhd, Hewlett -Packard (M) Sdn Bhd, Maxis Mobile Services Sdn Bhd, Packet One Networks (M) Sdn Bhd, Tele Dynamics Sdn Bhd, Telekom Malaysia Berhad, U Mobile Sdn Bhd and YTL Communications Sdn Bhd.

A growing number of Johor Bahru-based local digital lifestyle retailers are participating at Johor Bahru PC Expo 2012. “The growing number and strength of participating local retailers reflect the increasing digital lifestyle popularity and awareness in Johor Bahru,” she said.

These local retailers include Alpha-Tech Distribution Sdn Bhd, APEX Computer& Information Technology Sdn Bhd, Camera Zone Sdn Bhd, E Cube Trading, EIT Lifestyle Sdn Bhd, Grex Multimedia, New Creation Sdn Bhd, Pine System Technology Sdn Bhd, Science Electronics Sdn Bhd and Sin Siah Audiovision. Prominent digital lifestyle outlets like G&O Distribution (M) Sdn Bhd, ITStore Sdn Bhd, Kao Sheng Distribution Sdn Bhd, Thunder Match Technology Sdn Bhd and Navotech Technology Sdn Bhd are also participating.

“We expect shoppers to accessorise especially in covers and cases for smartphones and tablets, earphones, wireless computing devices, personalised pouches for digital cameras and tablets, colourful or thematic USB devices, micro devices like pocket-sized projectors and mobile printers and more. Shoppers will have plenty of choices at the Expo,” she said alluding to the vast arrays of specials offers lined up.

For example, EIT Lifestyle Sdn Bhd (Booth J11, J12, J14 and J20) will have HP TouchSmart 20”, an AMD-based touchscreen PC bundled with free gifts worth RM199 at a starting-level of RM2,588. EIT Lifestyle will also have special offers which appeal to gamers including goodie packs worth about RM500 each.

Canon Marketing (M) Sdn Bhd (Booth J7) is pricing Canon Pixma E500, an all-in-one printer at RM249 bundled with a 8GB USB drive and RM20 meal voucher, Canon Pixma E600, an all-in-one plus fax printer at RM469 bundled with a cordless phone, trolley, a calculator and mouse, and Canon imageClass MF4450, an all-in-one mono-laser printer at RM868 bundled with a RM60 gift card, traveling kit and trolley.

Meanwhile Tele Dynamics Sdn Bhd (Booth J15) will highlight numerous notebook PCs including the new 14-inch Toshiba Satellite M840 which has a metallic finishing. The entry-level configuration is equipped with a third generation Intel Core i7 processor in Gold Blaze, Pink Blush or Blue Horizon at RM2,999.

Grex Multimedia (Booth J1, J2) will have specials on Brother printers and notebook PCs. Their offer includes RM588 for Brother MFC-7360, an all-in-one laser fax printer which normally retails for RM888, RM388 for Brother DCP-J430W, an all-in-one fax printer which retails for RM449 and RM188 for Brother HL-2130, a laser printer which retails for RM288. Shoppers can also look forward to a wide range of offers for notebooks from RM899 for a Celeron-based notebook PC to RM1,999 for an Intel i5-3210 2.5GHz-based notebook with free upgrade to 4GB RAM.

Exhibitors like Navotech Technology Sdn Bhd (Booth J10 and J16) are offering RM199 for a 19-inch Philips Full HD monitor, RM12.99 for a 8GB Imation Nano USB drive and RM185 for a 500GB Adata USB 3.0 external hard disk while Kao Sheng Distribution Sdn Bhd (Booth J13) highlighting colourful and thematic iPad and Galaxy Tab casings starting at RM29.90 each.

An estimated 180,000 shoppers were at the Expo in past legs at Penang, Melaka, Batu Pahat, Kluang and Alor Star. “The purchasing sentiment is encouraging in face of various offers and bargains at the Expo. This is a positive sign as consumers indicate their preference to build or enhance their digital lifestyle,” she said.

Visitors to Johor Bahru PC Expo 2012 this week can also take advantage of special offers like RM179 for a Buffalo 500GB portable hard disk and RM9.90 for a Kingston 8GB USB drive. A complimentary 2GB DDR3 RAM can be redeemed after the purchase of a notebook or laptop PC during the Expo*.
