MAXIS OFFERS LATEST 4G LTE-ENABLED SAMSUNG GALAXY S4, EXPANDS 4G LTE NETWORK BEYOND KLANG VALLEY

With the Samsung Galaxy S4, Maxis now offers a suite of 4G LTE-enabled devices
Maxis doubles its 4G LTE network in the Klang Valley and now expands to Penang and Johor Bahru 
Maxis is the first to provide 4G LTE in East Malaysia, starting with Kuching and Kota Kinabalu

Kuala Lumpur, 5 June 2013. After being the first Malaysian telco to launch 4G LTE services in Malaysia, Maxis Berhad (Maxis), Malaysia’s only integrated communications service provider now offers a suite of 4G LTE-enabled devices which come bundled with attractive data and call plans with the launch of the 4G LTE-enabled  Samsung Galaxy S4 today. The Samsung Galaxy S4 joins Apple’s iPhone 5, iPad mini and iPad 4; Blackberry Q10, HTC One,  Nokia Lumia 920 and HTC One XL in Maxis’ suite of 4G LTE-enabled devices. The 4G LTE-enabled Samsung Galaxy S4 is now available for purchase at all Maxis Centres and participating Maxis Exclusive Partner stores nationwide as well as the Maxis Online Store. Stocks are limited and will be on a first come, first served basis.

Maxis customers will be able to maximise the many features offered by the 4G LTE-enabled devices and enjoy an enhanced mobile experience with download speeds five to ten times faster than 3G when they are within high speed 4G LTE network coverage areas.

Commenting on Maxis’ 4G LTE network, Nasution Mohamed, Maxis’ Joint Chief Operating Officer said, “We currently have over 130,000 customers enjoying our 4G LTE service since our launch on 1 January of this year. We have now doubled our 4G LTE coverage in the Klang Valley to include areas such as Bukit Damansara, Kepong, Sungai Besi, Sentul and Subang Jaya, as well as expanded our 4G LTE footprint to cover areas in Penang and Johor Bahru. We are also proud to be the first to offer 4G LTE in East Malaysia, starting with Kuching and Kota Kinabalu.”
