Samsung Brings Malaysians Closer to Their Heroes in Blue

Samsung rewards fans with opportunity to meet Chelsea FC superstars up-close and personal

Kuala Lumpur – July 20, 2013 – The arrival of Chelsea Football Club to Malaysia has intensified the excitement of Malaysians to a blue fever pitch. In the build-up to Chelsea’s friendly match against a Malaysian selection team on Sunday, Samsung Malaysia Electronics organised a meet and greet session with the Blues at The Club Saujana Resort earlier this afternoon.

True Blues fans’ dreams fulfilled – Loyal fans of Chelsea Football Club meets star midfielder, Frank Lampard.

“For this meet and greet session, we wanted to reward Malaysians with a true blue heart and give them the chance to meet their Chelsea heroes up close. We understand how passionate Malaysians can be about football so we are delighted to bring this opportunity to Malaysian fans of the Blues,” said Soh.

In the heat of excitement the Chelsea team line up, 12 year old Sean Koay Kah Yao said, “I’ve been supporting Chelsea ever since I was 9 years old and I saw them on TV. It was so exciting to meet the players up close, especially my favourite player Ramires. He is a hard worker on the pitch and he can attack and defend well. I felt like screaming out loud but I had to stay calm!”

To add to the blue fervour, there will be another meet and greet session in the evening with the Chelsea FC players at the Shah Alam Stadium. Of the privileged few who will have the opportunity to meet the Chelsea players up close during the session, ten of them are winners of the Shout Out and Score with Samsung campaign. To win the opportunity, fans were tasked to repeatedly post a Chelsea-related status on Facebook with the #Chelseats hashtag. Samsung will be rewarding 1,000 winners of the Chelseats contest with tickets to the friendly match on Sunday.
Truly a Blues moment to remember – Samsung provided the opportunity for a loyal Chelsea fan getting an autograph from Frank Lampard during an exclusive meet & greet session.

This is the third time that Chelsea FC is visiting Malaysia, in conjunction with their Chelsea Asia Tour 2013. Chelsea FC will be going up against a Malaysian selection team at Stadium Shah Alam on Sunday, 21 July.
