TM SERVES UP SPECIAL TREATS IN CONJUNCTION WITH MALAYSIA’S 50TH MERDEKA CELEBRATIONS

In conjunction with the country’s 50th Merdeka celebrations, Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) is offering special promotions for its iTalk prepaid calling card and Streamyx packages.

iTalk is a prepaid calling card service, which uses Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP) that enables users to make cheaper International and Domestic phone calls. The service can be used with any mobile or fixed line telephone services.

Streamyx is a broadband Internet access service, which provides bandwidth speeds ranging from 384Kbps up to 4Mbps to consumers. With high-speed connectivity, the service is ideal to support most broadband applications such as web hosting, video streaming, e-commerce, e-learning, online gaming and entertainment.

With the iTalk Merdeka promotion, customers will enjoy discounts of up to 50% for calls to selected countries. For example, the normal rates for calls to Australia is 11 sen per 20 second block, but with the iTalk Merdeka Promotion, customers are charged only 5 sen per 20 second block. Customers calling to Pakistan and India also enjoy savings up to 30%.

iTalk customers will also enjoy mobile-to-mobile calls within Malaysia for just 8 sen per 20 second block.

The iTalk prepaid calling card can be purchased at more than 10,000 distribution outlets nationwide, which include TMpoints, mobile phone retailers, petrol stations,
convenience stores or online via Maybank2u, RHBBank, CIMBClicks and Mobile88. The cards are available in denominations of RM10, RM20, RM30 and RM50.

Streamyx Merdeka Bash Promotion
TM is offering special promotion to new Streamyx subscribers through its Streamyx Merdeka Bash package from August 1 to September 30, 2007.

Besides the various goodies offered, new subscribers also stand a chance to receive a FREE Samsung MP3 player (while stocks last).

The Streamyx Merdeka Bash package includes:

Streamyx SOHO Special Promotion
Besides the offering for residential consumers, TM is also offering a special Merdeka promotion for its Small Medium Enterprise (SME) customers through the Streamyx SOHO Special Promotion. The promotion is available till 15th October 2007 and subscribers will enjoy a reduced monthly subscription fee of RM99 per month for
Streamyx SOHO 1.0Mbps with modem package (normal price: RM148 per month) for the first 3 months and RM120 per month for the 4th month till the 12th month of subscription. From 13th month thereafter, subscribers will pay RM148 per month.
