Maxis Unveils Pocket Sized USB Modem for Mobile Broadband Kuala Lumpur, 28 September 2007 – Maxis Communications Berhad (“Maxis”) introduced the all new Maxis USB Modem utilizing the mobility of a smaller and lighter modem on their Maxis High Speed Data Packet Access (HSDPA) network.

The Maxis USB modem is small and stylish in all-white casing, measures 85mm x 40mm x 15mm and features download speeds of up to 3.6 Mbps, allowing users to enjoy a richer internet experience with significantly faster download time compared to a traditional dial-up connection.

The plug and play device allows users to get connected to the Internet within Malaysia as the modem provides mobility across HSDPA, 3G and EDGE networks, depending on where the customer is using the service.

With the highly portable device, Internet users can stay connected at any place within Maxis’ networks, unlike wired broadband users. In addition, they can send and receive SMS using the USB modem.

Users can enjoy the service within the same day they sign up. The Maxis USB Modem is bundled with the subscription of Maxis Broadband service at RM138 per month, inclusive of modem rental. Subscription of Maxis Broadband with standard modem is available starting from RM68 per month.
