TM與彭亨大學簽署合約擴展互聯網速率

Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) recently signed an agreement with Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) to upgrade the latter’s internet leased line capacity, TM Direct from 16Mbps to 34Mbps.

By upgrading its Internet access capacity to 34Mbps, UMP will be able to enhance its operations by providing Internet services to its entire campus, including all departments, lecture halls and cafeterias.

At the ceremony, TM was represented by Ghazali Omar, Vice President, Enterprise and Government Sales, TM Retail, while UMP was represented by YBhg. Dato’ Mohd Hilmey Mohd Taib, Chairman of Board Directors.

TM Direct leased line package that is offered to UMP includes value added services like wireless gateway with wireless card, e-browse – the online news services (News Straits Times, Harian Metro, The Star, Berita Harian and Utusan Malaysia) and wireless broadband access - Hotspot. Besides that, the UMP community can subscribe to Streamyx at a special price, which includes a free modem and a waiver on the activation fee(RM75).

Through this package, TM hopes to fullfil UMP’s requirements as one of the Country’s institutions of higher learning that emphasises on the importance of using Internet tecnology and is always technologically advanced, in line with its vision to be a leading technical univerisity with global competencies.

The convenience of accessing information through the Internet would not only increase the knowledge of the management, lecturers and students, but it will also improve the stature and competitiveness of UMP in the global education industry.

YBhg. Dato’ Mohd Hilmey Mohd Taib, Chairman of UMP said, “We are hoping that by upgrading our infrastructure, UMP students will adopt to the “digital lifestyle”, while achieving excellence in their respective field of studies”.

At the signing ceremony, Ghazali Omar said, “The communications facilities through TM Direct is ideal for supporting the progress and development of UMP, while at the same time improving the effectiveness of the management and administration of all its departments. It will also provide students with the additional facility of having wireless broadband access, Hotspot on campus. UMP will also enjoy cost savings in terms of managing and maitaining its data network as it will be fully monitored and managed by TM.
