Mtouche為泰國電視注入互動電視節目

MTOUCHE brings Interactive TV offering to the Land of Smiles

KUALA LUMPUR, 3 Sept 2007 – MESDAQ-listed mTouche Technology Berhad (“mTouche”) together with UK-based Cellcast Plc (“Cellcast”) has successfully brought to Thailand an installment of the interactive TV show Insomnia, through their joint venture company, Cellcast SEA Limited (“Cellcast SEA”).

Insomnia is an interactive TV show that uses a real-time three dimensional (3D) rendered virtual reality set, featuring high tech graphics and puzzles elements on the show. Cellcast SEA launched Insomnia in Malaysia over TV3 late last year and its huge success lead to a second interactive TV show CelebMania in July 2007. Insomnia blends popular entertainment with interactive games that are highly captivating and competitive in nature.

Following this, the first Insomnia show in the Thai language, also known as ‘Lun Talu Jor’ was successfully launched on Thailand’s satellite based channel, Hits Station, on Saturday, 1 Sept 2007.

Eugene Goh, CEO of mTouche says “Thailand has a booming television content industry, and the latest developments in television content have drawn new interest in interactive programming in the country.”

“Together with Cellcast, mTouche is confident that South East Asia is ready to embrace more tech-advanced interactive TV content. We believe that having a good understanding of what is trendy - by being sensitive to what the consumers want, will make this interactive TV show that which offers attractive prizes, a big hit in Thailand.”

Insomnia or ‘Lun Talu Jor’ is a late-night television show created for night-owls, with interactive brain-teasers and quizzes, while being entertained with high-energy comedy sketches, musical acts and celebrity gossips.
‘Lun Talu Jor’ is hosted by Thailand’s top-notched celebrities, including VJ OA, VJ Phon and VJ JOJO from Academe Fantasia 4, is broadcasted over Thailand’s satellite TV channel - Hits Station, using Cellcast’s Interactive Television (“iTV”) format and solutions, and leveraging the mTouche™ Intelligent Short Messaging Platform, mTouche™ Interactive TV Platform for Premium Short Messaging Services (“SMS”) and Premium Interactive Voice Recognition (“IVR”) services.

Goh is confident that ‘Lun Talu Jor’ will be equally successful in Thailand as its Malaysian-version. He says, “Currently there are very few iTV game shows shown on Thailand’s TV stations, and we are looking forward to provide a quality interactive program that is fresh and different to the Thai audience. Insomnia has proven to be hugely popular in Brazil, Argentina, UK, China and Malaysia. It’s time that the Thai audience gets to enjoy this addictive late-night program.”

Goh says that Lun Talu Jor will unleash bigger plans for iTV programs under mTouche Thailand, and believes that with interactive content’s ever growing trend in South East Asia, the potential for mTouche’s business growth is vast.
