Epicor推出iScala Collect以擴展其條碼服務

Epicor Extends Barcode Capabilities with iScala Collect

October 4, 2007 — Epicor Software Corporation (NASDAQ: EPIC), a leading provider of enterprise business software solutions for the midmarket and divisions of Global 1000 companies, today announced the availability of Epicor® iScala® Collect, a pre-integrated inventory control and management offering, including barcode capabilities for the Epicor iScala enterprise resource planning (ERP) suite.

Providing a more accurate view of inventory and its movement, iScala Collect removes the risk of data entry error, speeds up data capture and enables difficult and time-consuming processes around paper-based warehouse solutions.

The enriched capabilities of iScala Collect go beyond basic data collection and entry, extending functionally into almost every area of warehouse management to create a truly automated environment. iScala Collect has expanded capabilities in zone and task directed activity, as well as license plate support and other order fulfilling and inventory management operations.

Managing the Warehouse in Real-time or Off-line
Achieving ultimate mobility, scanning and mobile data collection can be accomplished during receiving, picking and counting with the use of handheld devices. iScala Collect also has the ability to continue operating even when disconnected from the ERP system, which means that the warehouse stays up and running.

iScala Collect provides the back bone for common picking types including requisition, orders, sales orders and stock transfers. Supporting iScala ERP stock Bill of Materials (BOM), iScala Collect business rules either enforce picking of quantities to fill complete BOM parent quantities or allow short pick and shipment of components.

iScala Collect functionality has been extended even further with the addition of License Plate Numbering (LPN) capabilities. Unique License Plate Numbers can be assigned to a container, which can be tracked within the iScala Collect system. LPNs can also be linked together to unlimited nested depth to support any packaging concept as required.

The picking capabilities are extended so that an LPN can be created at the start of the pick process and goods added to the LPN during picking. iScala Collect printing capabilities can then be used to create LPN level labels and other documents to accompany the goods when shipped.

A Truly Mobile Environment
“Creating a wire-free atmosphere in the warehouse worked well, but did not go far enough,’” said Adam Prince, director, product marketing for Epicor. “With iScala Collect, warehouse employees can go from task to task without having to return to a home base to print or retrieve their next task. This enables the employee and the entire warehouse to operate at a higher level of efficiency, which in turn can drive greater efficiencies throughout the company.”

Integrating mobile devices into warehouse operations is enabling manufacturers and distributors to conserve resources (cash as well as time), while streamlining the warehouse environment. Epicor is working with partners like Everett, Washington-based Intermec, a developer of core technologies including RFID, mobile computing and data collection systems, to power the ultimate mobile warehouse with the right tools for the job.

“Warehouse workers using handheld devices with remote access can be more productive when they are independent of the docked workstation, which we believe will continue to be the trend,” said Gary Jones, vice president of global channel sales for Intermec. ”We are working with Epicor to extend iScala’s current functionality by making these capabilities available today with devices that provide an unsurpassed level of interoperability and performance.”

Availability
iScala Collect includes enhancements in technology, user interface, performance and functionality, as well as the addition of iScala Collect WMS server. Available immediately, iScala Collect includes the entry level Standard module and add-in modules for Advanced and WMS functionality.
