Epicor® Announces Epicor 9 Redefining the Enterprise Application Software Experience

Kuala Lumpur, October 20, 2008 — Epicor Software Corporation (NASDAQ: EPIC), a leading provider of enterprise business software for the midmarket and divisions of Global 1000 companies, unveiled today its next-generation enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution – Epicor 9. Leveraging more than 20 years of experience in designing and implementing ERP solutions, Epicor 9 introduces a new approach to the way ERP systems are designed, built, and used.

Expected to be available in Malaysia before the end of the year, Epicor 9 will virtually put “ERP everywhere”, utilizing Web 2.0 concepts to provide users with a truly collaborative and dynamic enterprise business application experience. The latest ERP solution raises technology to a level that delivers unprecedented business management and supports continuous performance improvement through real-time, in-context business insight. At the core of Epicor 9 is an adaptable and collaborative business architecture that satisfies the needs of any enterprise regardless of country, industry, or access device, enabling business anywhere — business without barriers.

“With Epicor 9, Epicor continues its proven history of innovation with Microsoft technology by working to redefine the enterprise application software experience,” said Walid Abu-Hadba, CVP, Developer & Platform Evangelism for Microsoft Corp. “We applaud Epicor for its deep utilization of the Microsoft platform to deliver its next-generation service-based business solutions. These applications offer users tremendous choice for interacting with their enterprise information – through the 2007 Microsoft® Office system (Office Outlook® 2007, Office Word 2007, and Office Excel® 2007), Microsoft Office SharePoint® Server 2007, Microsoft Office PerformancePoint Server 2007, Windows Mobile and more. We expect that the combination of Epicor and Microsoft software will enable companies to drive greater efficiencies and create new business value as users are empowered to work smarter and faster.”

Malaysia is an important market for the Epicor Software Corporation as the country houses Epicor’s Global Support and Development Centre which caters to the organisation’s Asia-Pacific market. In Malaysia, Epicor provides integrated enterprise resource planning (ERP), customer relationship management (CRM), supply chain management (SCM) and professional service automation (PSA) software solutions to blue chip clients which include Challenger as well as WingTai Asia (the parent company of retailers G2000).

Business Management
With proven success in developing and delivering service-oriented enterprise applications used by thousands of companies around the world today, Epicor has converged the best of its offerings into this next-generation superset release. Encompassing the robust functionality, global footprint and industry expertise of Epicor’s existing ERP suites, the release takes business management and control to the next level by extending reach, synergy, and visibility to the organization and its trading partners.

Specifically, Epicor features numerous essential embedded capabilities that manage the flow of processes right across the enterprise. This approach to core functionality, typically provided in other systems through after-the-fact integration or third party add-ons includes customer relationship management (CRM), supplier relationship management (SRM), advanced planning and scheduling (APS), business process management (BPM), governance, risk and compliance (GRC), product configuration, field service and more. Additionally, integral support for master data management (MDM) and what Epicor terms Global Business Management lets businesses virtualize their enterprise across plants, warehouses, sites, trading partners, companies, countries, and hardware, keeping everything synchronized in real time.

Business Insight
Epicor has responded to the needs of today’s businesses, who finding that it is no longer enough to respond retroactively to trends uncovered by complex business intelligence tools all too often removed from the point of decision and managed and used by a select few, are seeking better solutions.

Today’s information workers require decision support in real time, and they want it deployed in the tools they already use, day in and day out. Epicor Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) removes the barriers to better business insight through a combination of intuitive enterprise search-based user experiences, user-driven key performance indicators (KPIs), role-based interactive dashboards, and pre-packaged analytics delivered in context that have real meaning to the user and add real value to the business.

Business Architecture
Epicor’s breakthrough enterprise business solution has been designed for growing companies in domestic and global markets, and is built on a second-generation service-oriented architecture (SOA) which Epicor announced earlier this year, Epicor Internet Component Environment (ICE) 2.0. The backbone of Epicor’s next-generation ERP solutions, Epicor ICE, fuses modern Web 2.0 technologies with Epicor True SOA™ to deliver an enabling business architecture that offers new levels of flexibility, usability, and agility in support of application-to-application integration and business-to-business collaboration.

What makes Epicor True SOA™ different is the way that all client code, as well as application business logic is delivered as self-describing business services, offering a tremendous step forward in the creation of productive user experiences. Part of Epicor True SOA™ is the Epicor Everywhere™ Framework, a unique technology that stores all user interface attributes as XML metadata. This permits Epicor applications to run as smart clients or Web clients or on mobile devices, all from the same source code. Because it all starts from the same metadata, customization and user personalization remains intact, whatever the user interface.

Business Anywhere
The tools that people use to conduct business today have changed. Business is everywhere, business is real-time, and business is always online. Epicor understands that the Internet and ubiquitous mobility play an essential part in the daily lives of the information-hungry global economy. The world has changed and with Epicor 9, ERP has too.

Featuring a unique global engine design approach, Epicor 9 offers a comprehensive configurable ERP platform and global footprint that’s ready for deployment anywhere. The initial release is expected to support over 20 languages and countries, with rapid expansion planned to the world’s principle markets in more than 40 countries in the Americas, EMEA, and the Asia Pacific Rim.

Enabled by the Epicor Everywhere™ Framework and targeted use of modern consumer Web concepts, Epicor next-generation applications can be accessed via a range of mobile devices, such as Windows Mobile®, Symbian, BlackBerry®, and the Apple iPhone™ for wireless business. Additionally, Epicor Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) can also be deployed direct to mobile devices and include full search capabilities to rapidly find and drill down to applicable data.

Securing IT Investments – Protect, Extend, Converge
For both existing and prospective customers, this is just the next step in Epicor’s “protect, extend, and converge” strategy, enabling them to leverage the latest technology at their own pace. The next generation will expand on the Epicor solutions that customers have trusted to run and grow their businesses for many years. Because Epicor next-generation solutions are based on componentized business architecture, Epicor ICE, customers are able to leverage extended applications like Epicor Information Worker, Epicor Portal, and Epicor Service Connect today with their existing Epicor solution, enabling them to start taking advantage of service-oriented applications before they move up to the next-generation release.

Epicor 9 is the culmination of a well-defined strategy, which at the same time supports current customer investments while keeping the technology moving forward. Bruce Richardson, chief research officer of AMR Research, commented in a recent article that “getting to one brand obviously offers the potential for greater efficiencies in sales, marketing, consulting and services, and product development.”[1]

Keeping Pace with Business Requirements
Epicor will empower companies to select the fundamental options that are right for their business—choosing whether to deploy on-premise, single-tenant hosted, or multi-tenant Software as a Service (SaaS), Windows-based or Web-based, centralized or decentralized, end-to-end or individual suites. Customers can also choose how to configure the application suites to best fit and improve business processes. End users can choose several options for interacting with their ERP system: using the standard application forms, through Microsoft® Office applications, through Internet and intranet portal pages or composite applications, using a search engine, taking RSS feeds, and from mobile devices.

“Epicor next-generation enterprise applications represent a game-changing opportunity for business,” said Thomas Kelly, president and CEO of Epicor. “Epicor 9 is unparalleled because it is designed for the way people work today, is built for business, and is ready for change. Our strategy is to provide both new and existing customers with unprecedented flexibility and choice. It’s about delivering business without barriers.”

KUALA LUMPUR, 26 Feb 2008 — Epicor Software, a leading provider of enterprise business software solutions for the midmarket and divisions of Global 1000 companies, is eyeing the Malaysian manufacturing sector through its partnership with Tele Dynamics Solutions.
“Epicor and Tele Dynamics Solutions are targeting to garner at least five new customers for 2008 in our joint sales effort in Malaysia following a year-long partnership,” said Bryan Tan, Vice President of Sales, Asia, for Epicor.

Epicor Software (Asia) appointed Tele Dynamics Solutions as its partner in February last year, with Tele Dynamics’ role as a value-added reseller in the Malaysian market.

Tan added Epicor prides itself as a global leader dedicated to providing integrated enterprise resource planning (ERP), customer relationship management (CRM) and supply chain management (SCM) software solutions to midmarket companies, hence the vital importance of appointing the right partners to penetrate the local market.

“Tele Dynamics Solutions has a strong presence in the manufacturing sector and it has the facility to provide all the services to the end users. Moreover, the Tele Dynamics brand name is well-known and it sells,” said Tan.

Tan added that Epicor’s strength also lies in the retail industry besides having a strong presence in the manufacturing industry and shared Epicor’s plan to aggressively push its retail solutions this year and possibly exploring expanding the partnership with Tele Dynamics to the retail sector.

“Tele Dynamics Solutions entered into the partnership as Epicor is a global product with worldwide users. That is where we tie up with Epicor,” said K.C. Lai, Senior Manager for Tele Dynamics Solutions Sdn Bhd.

The global support provided by Epicor that extends to the pre and post sales support is another criteria that Tele Dynamics look for in a partner in its commitment to optimize the achievement of customer satisfaction, added Lai.

“Epicor has capitalized on the strength and value of the Epicor Vantage Solution on behalf of its customers through its integration with the existing systems. Our customers are confident of Epicor Vantage due to its flexibility that takes away all the hassle. It increases enterprise mobility, is affordable, stable and user-friendly. Epicor為特別零售商推出擴展CRM

Epicor Unveils Expanded Customer Relationship Management Offering for Specialty Retailers

October 16, 2007 — EpicorCRS, the Retail Solutions Division of Epicor® Software Corporation (NASDAQ: EPIC), a leading provider of enterprise business software solutions to the midmarket and divisions of Global 1000 companies, today unveiled CRS RetailCRM™ 2.0 to attendees of the company’s annual customer conference, Epicor Perspectives 2007.

The enhanced customer relationship management (CRM) solution gives specialty retailers advanced tools to drive sales, increase loyalty and support the business processes necessary for success in today’s competitive marketplace. With a Microsoft .NET-based service-oriented architecture (SOA) as its foundation, RetailCRM provides integrated capabilities for customer analysis, customer segmentation, campaign management and loyalty program management.
RetailCRM is designed to support multiple sales channels, and employs powerful analysis tools that provide a consolidated view of the customer and enable targeted communications with point-of-sale (POS) or other sales channels – supporting real-time loyalty points management.

“EpicorCRS shares our vision to provide retailers with innovative software solutions that enhance the overall shopping experience for customers,” said Paula Paravecchio, managing director, Worldwide Retail Industry, Microsoft Corp. “RetailCRM is built on Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services and provides businesses with analytics tools and reporting capabilities that can be used to derive insight from data that is captured at every customer touch point to make more-informed business decisions.”

Know the Customer and Improve the Shopping Experience
RetailCRM couples an advanced ability to segment customers by combining demographics, RFM (recency, frequency and monetary value) measures, purchase history and response to loyalty initiatives, with powerful analytics and reporting capabilities. With access to information regarding customer preferences, shifts in shopping patterns and product affinities within a segment, retailers can make faster, better decisions about day-to-day and longer-term operations.

According to a recent AMR Research report, “To increase intelligence about consumers and build shopping allegiance, 53 percent of retailers plan to add to, improve, or replace their CRM applications in 2007. [Retail] leaders seek to retain and expand relationships with their most valuable customers by providing consistent and positive cross-channel customer interactions.”[1]

Match Customers to Offers and Improve Value
RetailCRM gives retailers the ability to narrow their targeting to make more personalized offers to customers, enhancing their perceptions of the value of those offers, and enabling them to more accurately measure results. Using any combination of demographics, RFM measures, purchase history and response to loyalty initiatives, RetailCRM makes it possible for retailers to offer promotions via integrated, multi-channel campaigns designed to drive RFM while reducing costs.

With POS interaction in any channel via immediate offers, RetailCRM extends the retailer’s ability to execute a successful promotion. Targeted promotions deliver offers based on who the customer is, moving well beyond suggestive sell and current transaction triggers. With its easy-to-use wizard process, RetailCRM makes it simple to build campaigns and promotions complemented by real-time analysis of in process outreach campaigns.

Reward Loyalty and Retain Customers
RetailCRM enables retailers to recognize and reward loyal customers through a central repository for balance, rewards and redemption of loyalty points. Communicating in real-time with the POS, RetailCRM provides instant access to customer status across all sales channels.
“We’ve designed RetailCRM to support three key business strategies for creating and sustaining loyal customer relationships, know the customer, match customers to offers, and reward ongoing customer loyalty,” said Kathy Frommer, senior vice president and general manager of EpicorCRS. “Our solution provides extensive and powerful analytics right out of the box, giving retailers a broad, real-time view of how campaigns, promotions and loyalty plans are performing to accelerate a retailer’s ability to use data strategically and enhance the overall customer experience.”

Epicor Productivity Pyramid Unites People, Processes and Applications for a More Productive, Connected User Experience

October 15, 2007 — Epicor® Software Corporation (NASDAQ: EPIC), a leading provider of enterprise business software solutions for the midmarket and divisions of Global 1000 companies, today announced the Epicor Productivity Pyramid, which brings together three powerful tools – Epicor Information Worker (IW), Epicor Portal and Epicor Service Connect – that empower knowledge workers to access, leverage and extend the reach of data residing in Epicor’s enterprise resource planning (ERP) suites.

Built with Epicor’s service-oriented architecture (SOA), the three complementary tools are designed to increase individual efficiency and group collaboration by making information easily accessible to knowledge workers. Each component of the Productivity Pyramid works together in harmony to extend the value of the investment Epicor customers make in enterprise business software.

According to a recent report by Cindy Jutras, vice president and group director at Aberdeen Group, “users of enterprise applications spend 25% more time using desktop productivity tools (such as word processing, spreadsheets and e-mail) than they do using business applications. . .companies are seeking to improve access to business data through the convergence of these two categories of applications.”[1]

“To achieve Best-in-Class performance, companies must provide all information workers with secure anytime, anywhere access to enterprise data, implement the ability to launch desktop applications from enterprise applications, and make enterprise applications a natural extension of desktop tools,” said Jutras. “With the Productivity Pyramid, Epicor has brought together all of the components that will enable an organization to achieve Best-in-Class performance.”

Connecting People with Information
Epicor IW utilizes the Microsoft® Office system to enhance the user experience of an Epicor ERP application with familiar desktop productivity tools (See news release, “Epicor Unveils New Desktop Productivity Solution on the Microsoft Office 2007 System Aimed at Leveraging ERP for the Information Worker,” Oct. 24, 2006). With Epicor IW, users are able to synchronize Microsoft Office Outlook® contacts, appointments and tasks with an Epicor application along with other items such as customer information, sales history, inventory levels and production schedules for near real-time or disconnected access. Knowledge workers can also find and drag Epicor ERP information from the Epicor Task Pane to fields on a Microsoft Office Word 2007 document or Microsoft Office Excel® 2007 spreadsheet.

Enterprise Data Presented in a Familiar View
Epicor Portal is a server framework for self-guided, role-based access to Epicor and other line of business systems from easy-to-access Microsoft® SharePoint® pages. Extending the reach of Epicor applications within an organization, Epicor Portal enables collaboration and knowledge sharing between an organization’s people, departments and divisions, as well as with its partners and customers. Pre-packaged content packs provide comprehensive views that offer immediate value to users helping to ensure a solid foundation for greater business intelligence and the development of additional personalized content by the knowledge worker. (See news release, “Epicor Empowers Information Workers with Rich Portal Content, New Collaborative Capabilities,” June 12, 2007).

Streamlined Workflow
Epicor Service Connect is a Web services-based business integration platform that acts as a central integration point for secure workflow orchestrations within Epicor applications, and as external connectivity to Epicor and non-Epicor applications. Service Connect enables users to automate business processes and tasks within the application, which promotes continuous performance initiatives, as well as service and support quality levels within the organization or across the value-chain (See news release, “Epicor® Announces SOA Business Integration Platform” Feb. 22, 2006). With Service Connect, information workers can seamlessly interact with and redefine software business processes as required, to support overall business goals.

New Pre-Packaged Content for Epicor Enterprise
Epicor is scheduled to deliver new pre-packaged Productivity Pyramid content for its Epicor Enterprise suite in the fourth quarter of calendar 2007, including an Employee content pack for Epicor Portal, extended Service Connect support for supply chain management and CRM and Epicor IW views and actions for financials, supply chain management and CRM.
“Epicor believes that information workers should have easy yet secure access to the information they need to perform their jobs at the highest level of efficiency,” says Scott Hays, director of product marketing for Epicor. “The Epicor Productivity Pyramid business tools bring enterprise data and desktop applications together, enabling people to work smarter and faster, resulting in better decision making that will ultimately have a positive impact on a company’s overall success.”

Epicor Announces Multi-Tier Solution Strategy for Project-Based Organizations

October 15, 2007 — Epicor Software Corporation (NASDAQ: EPIC), a leading provider of enterprise business software solutions for the midmarket and divisions of Global 1000 companies, today announced planned enhancements to its Epicor for Service Enterprises solution that will enable Epicor to address a broader market space.

The announcement kicks-off Epicor Perspectives 2007, the company’s annual customer conference held this year in Orlando with more than 2,000 customers, partners and industry experts in attendance.

The new version of Epicor for Service Enterprises, which is scheduled for release during the fourth calendar quarter of 2007, includes an enhanced accounting interface tuned to support throughput from the increasing number of multi-thousand user global service organizations turning to Epicor for Service Enterprises. Also in development is a core, project-focused version of the solution designed for smaller midmarket organizations and companies that prefer to stage their business-wide implementation.

Comprehensive Support for Large-Scale Services Organizations
Epicor’s years of experience meeting the needs of large and distributed service firms, as well as it’s early adoption of enabling technology like service-oriented architecture (SOA), helps to ensure continuing refinements in the performance of mission critical web-based business applications. In response to customer suggestions and in order to further support the needs of higher volume user communities, the upcoming release plans to include:
· Optimized integration performance, tuned for the work needs of high volume, globally dispersed service organizations;
· Comprehensive business process and workflow support for essential financial transactions;
· Streamlined interface for scheduling, managing and tracking financial web services; and
· Superior integration support for non-Epicor back office accounting environments.

Epicor for Service Enterprises Express
A return-on-investment (ROI) survey of Epicor customers completed by SPI Research in December 2006 showed that the majority of the ROI comes from the core project areas of the implementation (See Epicor news release, “Services Organizations Report Strong ROI with Epicor; Analyst Research Reveals Epicor for Service Enterprises Enables Significant Return on Investment, Estimated Over a Five Year Period,” December 11, 2006). It was also apparent that there was a significant section of project-based companies, particularly in Eastern European, Middle Eastern and Asian regions, that were unable or unwilling to take advantage of an end-to-end enterprise service automation solution due to limited resources.

“The competitive climate for Professional Services Organizations has changed significantly since the turn of the 21st Century, and project-based solutions like Epicor for Service Enterprises have shown to be a resource for managing both the strategic and tactical challenges facing these organizations,” said R. David Hofferberth, P.E., managing director of SPI Research. “Even so, the structure and resources of some of these organizations has prohibited them from leveraging the benefits of an organization wide project-based solution.”

Epicor identified this need, considered the market opportunity and began development on an introductory solution that is highly project-focused. Epicor for Service Enterprises Express is tuned for rapid implementation and includes new wizards and guides for straightforward set-up of core project features.

“The multi-tier Epicor for Service Enterprises offering is intended to give our customers more for their investment,” said Malcolm Fox, senior manager of product marketing for Epicor. “While other vendors only offer point solutions, which limit a user’s options for future expansion, Epicor for Service Enterprises Express is designed to offer a strong and essential core solution that can be built out by adding elements such as opportunity and bid management, contingent workforce management and project procurement, on an as-required basis.”

Epicor推出iScala Collect以擴展其條碼服務

Epicor Extends Barcode Capabilities with iScala Collect

October 4, 2007 — Epicor Software Corporation (NASDAQ: EPIC), a leading provider of enterprise business software solutions for the midmarket and divisions of Global 1000 companies, today announced the availability of Epicor® iScala® Collect, a pre-integrated inventory control and management offering, including barcode capabilities for the Epicor iScala enterprise resource planning (ERP) suite.

Providing a more accurate view of inventory and its movement, iScala Collect removes the risk of data entry error, speeds up data capture and enables difficult and time-consuming processes around paper-based warehouse solutions.

The enriched capabilities of iScala Collect go beyond basic data collection and entry, extending functionally into almost every area of warehouse management to create a truly automated environment. iScala Collect has expanded capabilities in zone and task directed activity, as well as license plate support and other order fulfilling and inventory management operations.

Managing the Warehouse in Real-time or Off-line
Achieving ultimate mobility, scanning and mobile data collection can be accomplished during receiving, picking and counting with the use of handheld devices. iScala Collect also has the ability to continue operating even when disconnected from the ERP system, which means that the warehouse stays up and running.

iScala Collect provides the back bone for common picking types including requisition, orders, sales orders and stock transfers. Supporting iScala ERP stock Bill of Materials (BOM), iScala Collect business rules either enforce picking of quantities to fill complete BOM parent quantities or allow short pick and shipment of components.

iScala Collect functionality has been extended even further with the addition of License Plate Numbering (LPN) capabilities. Unique License Plate Numbers can be assigned to a container, which can be tracked within the iScala Collect system. LPNs can also be linked together to unlimited nested depth to support any packaging concept as required.

The picking capabilities are extended so that an LPN can be created at the start of the pick process and goods added to the LPN during picking. iScala Collect printing capabilities can then be used to create LPN level labels and other documents to accompany the goods when shipped.

A Truly Mobile Environment
“Creating a wire-free atmosphere in the warehouse worked well, but did not go far enough,’” said Adam Prince, director, product marketing for Epicor. “With iScala Collect, warehouse employees can go from task to task without having to return to a home base to print or retrieve their next task. This enables the employee and the entire warehouse to operate at a higher level of efficiency, which in turn can drive greater efficiencies throughout the company.”

Integrating mobile devices into warehouse operations is enabling manufacturers and distributors to conserve resources (cash as well as time), while streamlining the warehouse environment. Epicor is working with partners like Everett, Washington-based Intermec, a developer of core technologies including RFID, mobile computing and data collection systems, to power the ultimate mobile warehouse with the right tools for the job.

“Warehouse workers using handheld devices with remote access can be more productive when they are independent of the docked workstation, which we believe will continue to be the trend,” said Gary Jones, vice president of global channel sales for Intermec. ”We are working with Epicor to extend iScala’s current functionality by making these capabilities available today with devices that provide an unsurpassed level of interoperability and performance.”

Availability
iScala Collect includes enhancements in technology, user interface, performance and functionality, as well as the addition of iScala Collect WMS server. Available immediately, iScala Collect includes the entry level Standard module and add-in modules for Advanced and WMS functionality.

Epicor Introduces New Functionality for Enterprise Resource Planning Solution

September 26, 2007 — Epicor Software Corporation (NASDAQ: EPIC), a leading provider of integrated enterprise software solutions for the midmarket and divisions of Global 1000 companies, today introduced new features and functionality for Epicor® Vantage®, the company’s comprehensive manufacturing and supply chain management (SCM) solution. Epicor Vantage is built using a true service-oriented architecture (SOA) that enables continuous performance initiatives, real-time connectivity between supply-chain applications and partners, and greater business agility for make-to-order (MTO) and mixed-mode manufacturers and distribution companies.

Building on its strong SOA foundation, this latest version of Epicor’s manufacturing and supply-chain platform provides enhanced scalability and performance aimed at supporting the needs of larger organizations with up to 2,000 concurrent users. Significant technology upgrades support the latest releases from Microsoft Corp., including Windows Vista, enabling customers to take advantage of new technologies to boost productivity and collaboration.

“Because most people in business are already familiar with Microsoft technologies, Epicor is able to use products such as Microsoft .NET 3.0, the 2007 Microsoft Office system, and Windows Vista to deliver enterprise solutions that require less ramp-up time to use, and which customers find very flexible and scalable,” said Charles Johnson, general manager of Microsoft Worldwide Manufacturing. “We are pleased to be working with Epicor to provide customers with innovative technology solutions that both improve customers’ operations and lower their total cost of ownership.”

Additionally, Epicor Manufacturing now offers expanded third-party application integration via Epicor Service Connect, Epicor’s standard business process orchestration engine that enables organizations to simply and easily configure integration among applications to best fit their business needs.

“For years, Epicor’s manufacturing solution has been designed to successfully meet the needs and requirements of midmarket manufacturers,” said Rodney Winger, senior director of product marketing, Manufacturing and Supply Chain Management. “Today we are increasingly focused on adding features that also address the needs of larger, global manufacturers; this functionality also helps our progressive midmarket manufacturing customers address many of the same challenges larger organizations are dealing with.”

With this latest release, Epicor delivers new and enhanced functionality for both core manufacturing and supply chain operations. Notable enhancements in the areas of planning, scheduling and production management facilitate a streamlining of these processes from an operational perspective. Enhanced Global Finite Scheduling offers real-time assessment of present and short-term plant or warehouse capacity as defined by on-hand resources (material, machines, labor, etc.).

The solution also provides improved visibility into material and capacity needs for planning purposes. In real-time, organizations now view material constraints with full links to information such as purchase order, job and lead time in conjunction with short horizon days of supply, offering improved material requirements planning (MRP) performance.

Expanded supply chain functionality includes enhanced support for international and export shipments throughout the order-to-pack and manifest shipping process. The new phantom pack feature provides the ability to multiple case pack all items on an order for quick and efficient pack processing.

Epicor Tax Connect now available to manufacturers
Additionally, Epicor manufacturing customers can now leverage the company’s new on-demand sales tax management service, Epicor Tax Connect. An innovative Web services-based sales tax automation solution, Tax Connect is a full-service sales tax solution that eliminates the tedious work and complexity of calculating, collecting, reporting on and remitting taxes across multiple jurisdictions within the US and Canada. The solution assists manufacturers in keeping compliant with changing jurisdiction- and commodity-specific taxation rules, and provides for automated generation of sales tax return reports.

Realizing the true benefits of SOA
More than 1,500 manufacturers are now leveraging Epicor’s SOA manufacturing solution, including Commercial sheet-fed and web offset printer, Spartan Graphics, Inc., the first manufacturer to go live on the new version. Epicor Vantage has been an integral part of Spartan Graphics business since 1996, with all aspects of the company’s daily operations relying on the system.

“Spartan Graphics has grown and acquired a number of companies since our initial implementation of Epicor,” said Todd Hofert, IT Director for Spartan Graphics. “Our ultimate goal was to have a standardized ERP solution across all of our companies. Each of our companies share centralized accounting and IT functions, and standardizing on a single platform was an appealing option to reduce staffing requirements and the cost of training staff.”

Hofert continued, “The SOA-built Vantage solution offered the flexibility that we needed to tailor the solution to our unique business needs. This flexibility has allowed us to not only achieve our standardized ERP goal; it has allowed us to improve many business processes resulting in improved efficiencies and greater information availability. These improvements include better inventory controls and management, streamlined purchasing functions, automation of many routine tasks, integration of data with our sister companies through the use of multi-site management, as well as improved access to critical information required to communicate effectively with our customers. We also intend to extend this information directly to our customers through the use of Customer Connect, allowing us to offer a level of custom service our competitors are unable to provide.”

Epicor Provides Enhanced Web-Based Storefront Solution to Support Online B2B and B2C Sales

June 28, 2007 — Epicor Software Corporation (NASDAQ: EPIC), a leading provider of enterprise business software solutions for the midmarket and divisions of Global 1000 companies, today announced Epicor iScala Storefront, powered by Part Trap®. Now available with Epicor iScala, a comprehensive end-to-end suite of proven industry-specific solutions for the global midmaket enterprise, iScala Storefront is a comprehensive Web-based order management solution that allows companies to provide Web-based sales functionality to their partners, customers and sales people.

The feature rich iScala Storefront allows companies to reduce the cost of order entry, maintenance and enquiry while reducing entry error. Because customers enter their own orders, they are recorded at point of entry and not transcribed. This easy to use solution also provides greater efficiency in the sales cycle. Customers have access to descriptions, prices, discounts, availability and the ability to place an order as well as define delivery requirements at any hour of the day.

Customers Become Empowered to Self-Serve

Depending on permission level, the user can create, edit or delete orders and quotations. Real-time stock availability can be displayed together with customer specific prices, discounts and delivery planning, all calculated using Web services. Interactive images can be used to simplify product selection using clickable hotspots for ordering individual product items; ideal for use for spare parts ordering. On completion the order is saved into iScala instantly and the user receives confirmation on the screen and optionally via e-mail with total price, expected delivery date and order number.

Optional features include the iScala Storefront Catalog and the iScala Storefront Configurator. The iScala Storefront Catalog provides support for maintaining and printing a PDF format catalog or individual product pages in the selected language. The iScala Storefront Configurator guides the user through configuring a complex product from preset component options and accessories.

Open for Business Anytime, Anywhere

With iScala Storefront companies can view basic customer account information, display open and closed invoices selected by invoice number, order number, invoice date, due date or customer order number. Individual sales orders can be opened to display order header and line detail including open and closed lines.

Users can easily look up products through a search field or the product search tree, which will provide a product list showing availability and price, and enabling selection for the order basket. Images and detailed descriptions can be displayed along with planned and previous deliveries, including drill down to the sales order details.

Companies can create and run promotional campaigns and news can be created for customer groups or individual customers. Campaign items can be highlighted on the welcome screen with special prices or other offerings, or purchase of certain items can qualify the customer for free gifts or reduced price on other items—all managed through the built-in campaign designer.

When bicycle component and accessory manufacturer Shimano Australia implemented iScala Storefront, they were excited to have in place a one-stop hub for anything a bicycle retailer might need. According to John Bazzano, managing director for Shimano Australia, with Epicor’s storefront solution they’ve found that the intuitively simple explorer-type navigation is a very quick and effective way of presenting and navigating through their comprehensive range of bicycle parts on a 24/7 basis. “The information – graphics and text – that can be incorporated in iScala Storefront makes our B2B Web site a very useful addition to any bicycle workshop. We have also found that the average value of sales orders logged through the storefront is up to 50% higher in value than orders placed by other means.”

“With iScala Storefront, companies are better able to meet their customers ordering needs at anytime of day or night, wherever they happen to be in the world—enabling truly global businesses,” said Steve Humble, senior director of product marketing for Epicor. “Our Storefront delivers functionally rich Web-based order management, tightly integrated to the iScala database and business logic, allowing for quick implementation and a low cost of ownership.”

Availability

Available now, the iScala Storefront solution is offered in two packages, iScala Storefront Enterprise and iScala Storefront Standard. iScala Storefront Enterprise is licensed per server and provides support for unlimited customers and salesmen for a single company running on a single server; additional companies may be added to extend the base product to provide additional Web sites. iScala Storefront Standard is licensed per server for a single company and provides support for up to five named customers and two named salesmen; additional named customers and salesmen may be added using additional Standard CALs.

Epicor Delivers Enhanced Supplier Relationship Management

June 26, 2007 — Epicor Software Corporation (NASDAQ: EPIC), a leading provider of enterprise business software solutions for the midmarket and divisions of the Global 1000, today announced significant enhancements to its Epicor Supplier Relationship Management Suite, part of Epicor’s end-to-end solution that enables companies to drive efficiency, improve performance and build competitive advantage by streamlining and optimizing purchasing processes for direct and indirect goods. The latest release includes new features and tools for Epicor Procurement including order-to-stock for direct materials, mobile access for approvers and an enhanced user experience for requisitioners.

According to a recent report from Forrester, “Competitive sourcing and automated contract creation and negotiation tools can lead to deals on purchased goods and services that can save an enterprise millions of dollar a year — on paper. eProcurement applications help create employee compliance with these deals by putting all preferred supplier catalogs at a single corporate site that is accessible by browser and readily searchable, providing easy-to-use tools such as wizards to guide buyers through the requisitioning process and automating the approval process for purchases by employees.”[1]

Extended Support for Direct Materials Process

Epicor Procurement, a Web-based purchasing solution that empowers employees to manage their own buying within the framework of defined business rules, works with the core Epicor system as the Web-based face to inventory control. Working together with the Epicor Supply Chain Management suite, Epicor Procurement provides visibility to stock and the ability to generate orders to stock and stock transfer requests. With Procurement, companies benefit from extensive approval workflow capability and audit trails and comprehensive spend analytics.

The enhanced tools for direct materials processes in Epicor Procurement provide functionality that is in high demand among industries that manage direct materials in many locations, such as hospitality. Hotels, restaurants and other multi-site hospitality organizations can leverage Epicor Procurement to restock multiple locations from a central warehouse or commissary, as well as track inventory at each remote location.

Connecting Purchasing Process through Mobile Access

Epicor Procurement empowers the mobile worker by enabling order approvals via PDA. The newly available mobile access tools not only helps mobile users to complete their jobs with greater efficiency, but also makes approving from desktop e-mail easier by providing order details in each approval notification e-mail.

Epicor customer PB (http://www.pbworld.com/), an international planning, engineering, program and construction management organization, acknowledges the value of the mobile access feature in Epicor Procurement. With an expansive global presence needed to complete its large-scale projects, PB has invested in mobile technology to keep on-site managers connected to the enterprise in real-time. The addition of mobile access for Epicor Procurement will put more tools and resources in the hands of the remote project teams.

“Epicor Procurement is critical to our ability to capitalize on our buying power with contracted vendors and helps us keep our project expenses in check,” said Rikki Geisler, purchasing director for PB. “The new mobile access capability in Epicor Procurement will help ensure that the workflow processes for approvals maintains the speed necessary to meet the requisitioning needs of our geographically-dispersed workforce.”

Flexible Workflows for an Array of Procurement Processes

At the heart of Epicor Procurement is automated workflow with two purposes: maintain controls and expedite processing. In this release, Epicor introduces new options for routing change orders in different ways depending on the types of changes made. Epicor Procurement also provides for setting a specified level of management approval required before sending a non-catalog order to a buyer for sourcing. In addition, new line-item level approvals and disapprovals permit more granular decision making that keeps the process moving with reduced effort by all participants.

“Businesses must continually find new ways to reduce costs and gain efficiencies to remain competitive in their markets. Procurement strategies are a critical element in maintaining the competitive edge that today’s economy demands,” said Scott Hays, director of product marketing for Epicor. “Our latest release of Epicor Procurement automates more processes requiring less effort by users such as requisitioners, approvers and administrators. When companies can spend less time to save more money, it’s a smart investment.”

Epicor Procurement is a complete purchasing management solution that creates a seamless connection between buyers and suppliers for the purchase of direct and indirect goods and services. By automating inefficient manual tasks, like catalog management, requisitions and approvals, purchasing managers are free for more important tasks like analyzing trends, better contract negotiation and strategic sourcing – a situation that couples smarter buying with time and cost savings.

The latest version of Epicor Procurement is available immediately worldwide.
