PT. Yutaka Manufacturing Indonesia Selects Blue Coat for WAN Optimization

MALAYSIA, October 9, 2007 – Blue Coat Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: BCSI), a leader in WAN Application Delivery and Secure Web Gateway, today announced that PT. Yutaka Manufacturing Indonesia (YMI), a leading manufacturer of innovative automotive parts including brake disc plates and mufflers primarily for Honda Motorcycles, has selected Blue Coat® ProxySG™ appliances to accelerate the delivery of applications and content across its Wide Area Network (WAN).

Prior to installing the Blue Coat appliances, YMI employees experienced long waiting times when transferring files as well as application “time outs” when attempting to access the company’s proprietary inventory, purchasing, customer request, budgeting and human resource applications. Such delays often made these applications unusable. In addition, these applications utilized an excessive amount of bandwidth.

Blue Coat ProxySG appliances increase the performance of YMI’s applications by a minimum of 50 percent, changing response time from minutes to only a few seconds. Remote file access time was cut to approximately one-fifth the time previously required to transfer similar-sized files between offices. Bandwidth consumption has been reduced by 50 percent, from 4Mbps to 2Mbps with the implementation of Blue Coat ProxySG appliances.
