APC-MGE Appoints J.C Ong as Malaysia Country Manager

Kuala Lumpur, February 27, 2008, -- APC-MGE, a global leader in critical power and cooling services, recently announced the appointment of J.C Ong as Country Manager for APC-MGE Malaysia. He will be reporting to George Kong, General Manager of ASEAN for APC-MGE.

According to George Kong “We are delighted to have Ong leading APC-MGE’s business in the Malaysia. Ong will continue to foster open and ongoing communication with our local stakeholders, in particular our customers, partners and employees, supporting their needs from the desktop to the data center to the factory floor. With ultimate responsibility for the complete care of our customers, Ong will continue to gain and accelerate market share through the delivery of the industry’s most comprehensive solution and service in the power, cooling and management of the specific needs of the Malaysia’s marketplace.”

Ong graduated from Leeds Polytechnic, United Kingdom with a Bachelor of Science in Production Engineering. Prior to his appointment, Ong was the General Manager of MGE UPS systems Malaysia Sdn Bhd for twelve years. Under his leadership, MGE UPS system gained more market share in the UPS sector and had secured some big-scaled government linked projects. He was later promoted to Managing Director of MGE UPS System Sdn Bhd to take the company to greater heights and drive further revenue growth for the Malaysian market.

With the merger between APC and MGE, Ong is then promoted to Country Manager to handle a wide range of management responsibilities in the UPS fields including, profit and loss, Customer service, Sales, Sales technical support. His directions as the new country manager is to continue to leverage the exploding opportunities in data centers, large and medium sized enterprises, call centers, banking and other service-oriented businesses.

Maintaining leadership in the Power Protection market, building a world-class team of professionals who can deliver value to the customers consistently, further strengthening solutions in the Enterprise space and most importantly establishing APC-MGE as a leading global provider of critical power and cooling services, are amongst his key tasks in his new role.

APC-MGE was formed in February 2007 when Schneider Electric acquired APC and combined its market leadership with that of MGE UPS SYSTEMS. Laurent Vernerey, executive vice president of Schneider Electric, is APC-MGE’s president and CEO.
