CELCOM ANNOUNCES NEW BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Kuala Lumpur, 28 April 2008 – Celcom (Malaysia) Berhad, the domestic mobile operator under TM International, is pleased to announce its new line up for the Celcom Board of Directors, with immediate effect. This includes the handover of the Chairmanship from Tan Sri Dato’ Ir Muhammad Radzi Hj Mansor to Dato’ Jamaludin Ibrahim.

The new board line-up is in conjunction with the legal completion of the TM demerger and the listing of TM International on the Main Board of Bursa Malaysia today. This is also in line with the recent changes in the TM International Board of Directors which was announced last week.

The new Board of Celcom comprises of five (5) members, all of whom come from various backgrounds such as industry, finance, accountancy and law.

The full line-up of Celcom’s new Board of Directors is as follows :

Dato’ Jamaludin Ibrahim, Director / Chairman of the Board
Dato’ Sri Mohammed Shazalli Ramly, Chief Executive Officer
Datuk Azzat bin Kamaludin, Director
Dato’ Yusof Annuar bin Yaacob, Director
Tan Poh Keat, Director

On 25 April 2008, the Celcom Board had accepted the resignation of its Chairman, Tan Sri Dato’ Ir Muhammad Radzi Hj Mansor and two of its existing directors, namely En Ismael Fariz Ali, who has stepped down to focus on Khazanah Nasional’s other priorities; and Dato’ Sri Abdul Wahid Omar, who has resigned as Director of Celcom to take up the appointment as President and CEO Designate of Maybank.

Commenting on his leaving Celcom after four years of being Chairman, Tan Sri Dato’ Ir Muhammad Radzi Hj Mansor said, “When I first undertook the trust that was given to me, I will only say that I have, with good intentions, contributed towards this organization together with the BOD and management of Celcom. I am proud to see Celcom as it is today. I am sad to say goodbye, but I am happy to note that I am leaving you in good hands. I am honoured to be handing over the chairmanship to Dato’ Jamaludin, whose vast experience in the telco industry makes him the ideal candidate to take over the reigns as Celcom Chairman. His knowledge and skills will be instrumental in taking Celcom to greater success, especially during this transitional period.”
