KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA, 7 May, 2008 – Juniper Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: JNPR), the leader in high-performance networking, announced it received a “Positive” rating in Gartner’s recently published MarketScope for Network Access Control (NAC), 2008.1 The report evaluates vendors based on the company’s understanding of the NAC market; its marketing, sales and offering (product) strategy; sales execution and pricing; and its overall viability (business unit, financial, strategy, organization).
According to the MarketScope, Gartner has defined the NAC market to be those vendors that sell appliance-based or endpoint software-based NAC solutions. To be included in the MarketScope, vendors’ solutions must be composed of the policy, baseline and access control elements of NAC.
“We believe the Positive rating of our Unified Access Control solution is proof positive of Juniper’s leadership in product development and execution,” said Wan Ahmad Kamal, Malaysia Country Manager for Juniper Networks. “Ensuring that employees, contractors and guests—connecting in a wired or wireless way from any device, and from any location—are dynamically provisioned with the right access control and security policies on the network is a critical problem for enterprises.
“Juniper’s UAC is a comprehensive, proven solution that best solves this problem. Because of Juniper’s ongoing ability to deliver best-in-class, innovative security solutions based on a highly scalable and open network infrastructure, customers have greater choice and control in quickly meeting high-performance business requirements.”
The report also stated, “Gartner estimates that the NAC market grew 87% from 2006 to a total of US$225 million in 2007. Gartner anticipates that the market will grow approximately 100% in 2008.”
