KUALA LUMPUR, 30 April, 2008 – NEC Malaysia Sdn. Bhd and NEC Systems Integration Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. (NECSIM), both subsidiaries of NEC Corporation in Japan, have integrated to form NEC Corporation of Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., with effect from April 2008.
Previously, NEC Malaysia was the sales office for NEC’s multimedia products, such as projectors, displays, computer peripherals and telecommunications equipments, while NECSIM was the system integrator for NEC’s IT and networking solutions in the several industries such as retail, logistics, finance, hotel services and manufacturing.
The integration seeks to unify both companies’ functions, to provide customers an integrated total solution, and a single point of reference and contact. NEC Corporation of Malaysia will continue to be headed by Mr Daisaku Takeuchi, the Managing Director of the previous two companies.
“We, NEC Corporation of Malaysia, are now a total IT and Network solutions provider offering NEC’s IT Systems solutions, Network Systems solutions and Hardware Products solutions, all under one roof. We will make use of our strong expertise and experience in providing solutions for several industries in Malaysia, and our cooperation with our HQ in Japan to provide more new services and customized integrated solutions for the Malaysian market. Together, we project the sales of RM100 million for the Financial Year 2008/09.” explained Mr Takeuchi.
NEC Corporation of Malaysia will also work closely with NEC Asia (based in Singapore), NEC Indonesia, NEC Corporation of Thailand and other NEC’s subsidiaries in the South East Asia region to jointly cooperate and promote NEC’s total integrated solutions in this region.
