Nexgen Hits Singapore Market with ‘Deep Quest’

Launch of One of the First Locally Produced Real-Time Strategy Game in Singapore


SINGAPORE 28 April, 2008 – NexGen Studio, a Singapore based game developer which isfocused on the creation and development of an online and mobile gaminge titles company based in Singapore, has launches launched DEEP QUEST – a brand new recreation of classic Real-Time Strategy Game (RTS) game title – in a form of “DEEP QUEST” in Singapore and worldwide.


This game, is also published by Aztro Games, will be available in Singapore and regional retail shops. RTS fans and advanced casual gamers alike will enjoy the game in what is probablyand one that will be the first locally produced game title made available in a retail box package for the local and regional markets. The game will be available by end April across major distribution channels.

Nexgen Studio is also an associate company of MNC Wireless Berhad, with a 35% stake belonging to MNC shareholding, making the MNC Group among the pioneers in the Asian Region to offer rich 3G mobile games, online games and other multi-platform games to any 3G markets worldwide.

A downloadable version Deep Quest is available on Yahoo!, Big Fish Games, Reflexive, Alawar, iWin and other major online casual game portals. It is also available in 3 different languages – English, German and Russian for both online and retail publications in the European markets (pending PEGI ratings).


A contract for USA and Canada has also been concluded and is expected to hit retail shelves such asincluding Wal-Mart, in forth quarter this year. The launch of Deep Quest marks an important milestone for Nexgen Studio in the marketing launch of its games into the retail and online space. The entire gaming market (including mobile & online) industry is an industry that growshas grown rapidly each yearover the past several years, and one that is projected to grow at a breakneck rate well into the foreseeable future. 1. According to a new report from DFC Intelligence, the worldwide online game market is forecasted to grow from $3.8 billion in 2005 to over $13 billion in 2011. Despite the strong growth, the leading online game category is expected to remain hHigh-end massively multiplayer Online Games (MMOGs) will continue to lead this growth, a category that appeals to a fairly small portion of the total user base. “MMOGs have a sophisticated online business model that drives a great deal of revenue for the top products,” says DFC analyst David Cole. On the other hand, aAccording to Juniper Research, the mobile game industry is set to continue its growth in the next five years, with a statistic of global revenue expected growth to grow from $3.1billion in 2006 to about $17.6billion by 2011, . aA rise producing equating to a cumulative revenue stream of nearly £$57billion over the next six years. Research also showed that the Japanese and the South Korean Korean game titles dominate the gaming market in the Asia Pacific region since its inception. Asia Pacific is predicted to contribute at least 38% of cumulative revenues from 2006 to 2011, with Europe contributing 31%, North America 22% and the rest of the world 9%.
