MALAYSIA, Kuala Lumpur, April 30, 2008 – HP today announced the availability of its HP Indigo press 5000 in Malaysia. The Indigo press 5000 is a digital press with printing capability of up to seven-colours for mid- to large-scale printing volumes, with the capacity to produce up to 4,000 full-colour pages per hour.
“The HP Indigo press 5000 is the first joint HP/ Indigo product innovation and it forms part of an impressive line up for digital printing solutions. The press is ideal for the professional graphics arts industry with higher productivity needs and it delivers variable data products, printed on industry standard and specialized substrates, whilst offering specialized ink and spot colour (Pantone) capability. Professional printing organizations are adding digital capability to compliment their businesses, offering on-demand, short-run services in an increasingly competitive market, adding increased value through personalized products in real-time with HP Indigo solutions.” explained Mr. Gabriel Dukes, Channel Development Manager, HP Indigo Digital Press, Imaging & Printing Group, Hewlett-Packard Asia Pacific & Japan.
HP Indigo press 5000: A new world of productivity and image quality
Designed for maximum productivity, ease-of-use and superior image quality, the HP Indigo press 5000 features a number of paper handling and ink system innovations. These include multi-tray input, which allows the operator to load one tray while press print from the others; and a high-capacity paper output system: features a convenient sampling tray for easier proof checks. The press is equipped with the HP Press Production Manager, a front-end solution based on open standards that combines simplified operation with scalable, high performance RIP and web-to-print connectivity. This allows the Indigo press to handle even large variable data jobs quickly and efficiently. This results in true workflow integration for dramatically improved throughput and significantly higher breakeven point for short-run printing.
“The HP Indigo press 5000 has the superior quality, the highest productivity and the best workflow we’ve ever used. We absolutely have the right collaborator for digital printing at our side.” said Mr. Gan, General Manager, Pre-Press, Vivar Printing Sdn Bhd. Vivar Printing is one of Malaysia’s largest specialised book printers with more than 75% of export market to countries such as United Kingdom, United States, Japan, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.
The HP Indigo press 5000 also employs the latest generation HP ElectroInk, which allows it to print 97% of PANTONE colours including brand-essential corporate colours, and offers greatly expanded substrate capabilities supported by HP Indigo Printing Papers.
The HP Indigo press 5000 is now available in Asia Pacific. Starting at the price of USD420, 000 for the 4 -colour printing engine. Prices may vary due to local tax structures in the region. HP offers a modular platform offering the flexibility to upgrade the standard platform to a 7-colour print engine.
HP is leading the digital transformation of the graphics industry through the application of professional colour technologies in a wide range of reliable printing solutions – supported by its strategic alliances and partners.
