HTC Recognizing Extraordinary Malaysians with Tom Abang Saufi

Limited batik edition of HTC Touch™ to be awarded to four selected Malaysians

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – 5 August, 2008 – HTC Corp. (TAIEX: 2498; “HTC”), the world's leading provider of Microsoft® Windows Mobile® smart devices, has announced a collaboration with local designer, Dato’ Dayang Fatimah Tom Abang Saufi, on a programme to recognize Malaysians who have made significant difference to society.

Four HTC Touch™ phones in Soft Black, Synergy Sage, Radiant Burgundy and Pure White will all be carrying the designs of Dato’ Dayang Fatimah Tom Abang Saufi. A graduate from the London School of Fashion, Tom Abang Saufi was selected to embark on this initiative due to her firm national identity reflected in her work as her batik prints are a recurring theme. Her designs have brought her much recognition, culminating in her being the Designer of the Year in 2004 and nominated for Designer of the Year under Malaysian International Fashion Awards 2005.

Touching Hearts, Painting Futures

Working on this initiative, Touching Hearts, Painting Futures, HTC is taking the opportunity to recognize and commemorate various individuals in Malaysia who have taken the first step in creating awareness whilst educating those around on a better tomorrow.

Based on this intent, the following four Malaysians are acknowledged for their enthusiasm and passion in making a difference in the society:

Datuk Michael Chong, Head of MCA Public Service and Complaints Department (PSCD)
Datuk Pn. Leela, Chief Executive Officer of Yayasan Budi Penyayang Malaysia and Chairman of Malaysian Batik
Ivy Josiah, Executive Director of Women’s Aid OrganisationAnthony Thanasayan, President of the Malaysian Animal-Assisted Therapy for the Disabled and Elderly Association (Petpositive) Each design of the four HTC Touch™ phones will be exclusive and these individuals will be holding one of these limited edition designer phones. The HTC Touch™ is the first device to feature TouchFLO™, the new underlying touch screen technology developed by HTC. Smart, stylish and versatile, the HTC Touch™ brings together a wide variety of communication, entertainment and professional capabilities that enable mobile consumers to balance work and play.
