Ready, Set Go! The Intel® Asia PC Gaming Showdown comes to Malaysia

Subang Jaya, Sept. 15, 2008 – Fasten your seatbelt, suit up for war, dazzle the crowd with amazing footwork. The first ever Intel® Asia PC Gaming Showdown has arrived in Malaysia!

Intel Asia PC Gaming Showdown will draw out the best of the best from Asia’s gaming media and amateur gamers – with representatives from seven countries – India, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam - competing head-to-head for a chance to play in the final to be held in Hong Kong. The winner will also be recognised as the inaugural gaming champion of champions at an exciting event that aims to unite countries across the region with the passion and fun of gaming as its focus.

Held at FTZ Asia Net, one of Malaysia’s leading cyber cafe; Intel is giving gaming publications across Asia the chance to showcase their PC gaming skills in this inaugural battle across three different gaming genres. In the Malaysia leg, competitors from Games Axis, PC Gamer, PC.Com, CHIP, Lowyat.net and 4 avid gamers from Lowyat.net will compete on Intel Core 2 Extreme processor-based PCs provided by Wynet Solutions Sdn Bhd and go head-to-head in several games from Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: ERTS):

- Need for Speed™ Pro Street: Need for Speed Pro Street puts the player straight into the driver’s seat, with all the visceral emotions and power that define authentic street racing, and
- Crysis™: the ultimate first-person shooter with next generation graphics and sound, pitting the player into a fight for the future of mankind, and

The winner from the Malaysia tournament will be entered into the Asian draw. The overall top-scoring three competitors in the tally will fly to the only EA branded venue in the world, the EA Experience located at The Peak Tower in Hong Kong, this October, to compete for the championship. The inaugural Intel Asia PC Gaming Showdown champion will also walk away with an amazing, high-performance gaming PC - featuring the Intel Core 2 Extreme processor - and five EA games as the ultimate prize. The second place winner will be awarded with a Creative Gigaworks® S750 multimedia speaker system specially designed to heighten gaming experience and three EA games, while the runner up will be awarded with three EA games.
