PIKOM to promote accountability, transparency and integrity

Kuala Lumpur – PIKOM, the National ICT Association of Malaysia, today reiterates its stand against corruption as it makes the pledge to fighting such bad practices and promotes integrity among its members and business associates.

This follows the signing of a Memorandum of Collaboration to promote integrity and to combat corruption between PIKOM and Transparency International Malaysia (TI–M), the local chapter of an international anti-corruption organization. The two parties officially sealed their pact in Kuala Lumpur last week. PIKOM chairman and Group CEO of SnT Global David Wong Nan Fay signed on behalf of the association while TI-M was represented by its President Tan Sri Dr. Ramon V. Navaratnam. Also present at the signing were PIKOM President CJ Ang and TI-M secretary-general Datuk Paul SK Low.

Among others, the objectives of the collaboration are to advocate and promote integrity in all sectors of the Malaysian community as well as to advocate and promote a Malaysian society that is free of corruption.

The two parties also agreed to a common fight against corruption by advocating and promoting accountability, transparency and integrity, in all dealings and transactions. In addition, they intend to undertake efforts to advocate and promote a culture of intolerance towards corruption and to strive to build institutional integrity in all sectors of the Malaysian community.
