Canon’s Fax Machine Line-up takes on a new dimension with High-Quality Print and Copy Functionality at a Low Cost

KUALA LUMPUR, 8th May 2009 – Canon Marketing (Malaysia), a global leader in photographic and digital imaging solutions are bringing home users and Small Business owners a compact inkjet powerhouse at an affordable price with the introduction of two new models JX210P and JX510P.

Two new Canon inkjet fax machines, JX210P and JX510P were built to reduce operational costs in times of economic hardships. In place of a thermal transfer mechanism, both models employ inkjet technology for higher print quality as well as PC connectivity for multi-functionality at low running cost. The JX210P and JX510P are welcome additions to any business and household looking for reliable, cost-effective and efficient fax and print device.

Taking the fax machine beyond traditional capabilities, the direct print feature injected into the JX210P and JX510P enable users to enjoy the fax machine as a Canon inkjet printer when connected to PC via a USB cable. In addition, Canon’s UHQ (Ultra High Quality) and FINE™ (Full-photolithography Inkjet Nozzle Engineering) technologies ensure professional quality faxes and prints.

Intricate image processing and impressive speedThe JX210P features inkjet printing with FINE™ technology for professional quality faxing, printing and copying. In addition, the machine’s 256 grayscale levels with UHQ™ technology will help process even the most intricate images or text perfectly.

Canon JX210P also features high precision data writing, delivering 600 x 600 dpi resolution that ensures crisp text and images with every print. To meet the demands of today’s Home users and Small Business Offices, the JX210P comes with a G3-fax modem that transmits faxes at approximately 6 seconds per page. In addition, the PC-print feature produces prints at approximately 5.5 pages per minute, and copies at approximately 4.5 pages per minute.

Excellent Value for Money
With its print quality and host of functions, the JX210P looks set to replace Thermal Transfer Fax machines (otherwise known as “Ribbon Faxes”) which have traditionally been the lowest-end fax devices available. With the PC-printer function, the JX210P gives users the option to expand the usability of their black-ink cartridges, which also offers users the value of savings in supply replenishment.

Despite its improved capabilities, the JX210P still offers low power consumption of approximately 1.3W, which represents a huge saving when compared to the high consumption of normal thermal and plain paper fax machines.

Fax - Telephony – Print : Fulfilling communication needs instantly
To ensure that users will not miss a single voice or fax message, Canon JX510P comes with an in-built Telephone Answering Machine (TAM) feature. With a maximum of 30 minutes recording time (up to 50 messages), this built-in capability allows callers to leave a voice message behind when the machine is left unattended.

More Features Equals Greater Convenience
With JX510P’s 20-sheet Auto Document Feeder (ADF) and 100-sheet Auto Sheet Feeder (ASF), users won’t have to worry about running out of paper in the middle of faxing. Canon JX510P also equipped with approximately 120-page fax memory for extra assurance. Other user-friendly features and capabilities include sequential broadcasting of up to 110 locations and a Fax / Tel auto switch.

The Auto-Print Off functionality of Canon JX510P stores incoming faxes into the memory so that users do not have to print every message that comes in. This offers SOHO users the flexibility in managing incoming faxes as well as keeping usage of ink and paper to a minimum.

Low Running Cost with only Black-Ink Cartridge Replacement
With PG-40 and PG-50 black ink cartridges, Canon JX510P will produce great quality monochrome prints at a low running cost. For users, this means no wastage will be made in purchasing other coloured ink cartridges as faxes are mostly made in monochrome.

The JX210P will be available in May 2009 while the JX510P will be available from 15th June 2009 at the recommended retail price of RM 448.00 and RM 538.00 respectively.
