Thin, Light and Loaded: Lenovo Brings More Features to Its Latest Slim and Affordable “Idea” PCs

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – June 1st, 2009: Lenovo today announced three new PCs designed to give consumers cool, fun-to-use and highly reliable technology with the latest capabilities at surprisingly affordable prices. The Lenovo IdeaCentre 3000 C300 all-in-one offers slick entertainment features, including a 20-inch screen, making it perfect for families or students. The new IdeaPad S10-2 netbook gives consumers even cooler netbook features – models with 3G connectivity [1], the rich sound of Dolby headphone technology for music and movies and long battery life, in a netbook that’s thinner and lighter than the previous IdeaPad S10 netbook. The IdeaPad U330 offers dual-core processing power in a stylish, yet affordable ultra-mobile package, along with improved features.

“Users are demanding thinner and lighter PCs with enhanced connectivity and extra long battery life to fit their increasingly mobile lifestyles,” said Eric Zhao, Country Manager, Consumer Business, Lenovo Malaysia. “Consumers are telling us they want to merge the capabilities of their most commonly used sources of electronic entertainment, such as digital photographs, online TV, music and social networks all into one portable and affordable device. We’ve incorporated that feedback into our new IdeaPad S10-2 netbook.”
IdeaCentre 3000 C300 All-in-One Desktop
With space for desktop computers shrinking, Lenovo’s latest all-in-one IdeaCentre 3000 C300 desktop fits the requirements for even the most compact of spaces. The fold-away stand can be positioned between 12 and 40 degrees to help fit the all-in-one into the tightest nooks and crannies.

That leaves room for viewing crisp images on the large 20-inch 16:9 aspect ratio widescreen or watching movies from the all-in-one’s built-in DVD burner/player. Users can also video message with the built-in camera. They can even choose models that fit their lifestyle and décor with choices of red, black or white. Based on the Intel® Atom™ platform, the all-in-one provides ample computing power and performance. Since its fold-away stand and hand grip make it portable, it comes with WiFi in addition to its Ethernet connectivity. For flexibility in connection to other media and peripherals, it comes with six USB ports, a firewire port and a 6-in-1 multicard reader. For increased reliability and to keep users productive, the all-in-one also comes with the Lenovo Rescue System.
IdeaPad S10-2 - Slimming Down on Size and Pumping Up PerformanceStarting at just over one kilogram and measuring less than an inch thick, the new IdeaPad S10-2 netbook is setting the bar higher in portability and affordability. Lenovo also revamped the IdeaPad S10-2 netbook with a modern and sophisticated ring pattern on the top cover for a distinct look personalized in grey, pink, white or black.

Lenovo outfitted the netbook for usability by giving it a larger keyboard that’s nearly 90 percent the size of a standard keyboard and made the netbook’s touchpad larger and more comfortable to use. The S10-2 also comes with three USB ports for greater expandability, a 4-in-1 card reader for flexibility in using different multimedia tools and up to six hours of battery life [2] to keep up with consumers’ mobile lifestyles. The IdeaPad S10-2 netbook’s battery saving software helps it achieve up to 30 percent more battery life than before.

Consumers can now go online “on demand” with their netbook anywhere with a host of wireless connectivity options to surf the Internet, email or chat at home or on the go. Enhanced on the go entertainment experience is delivered via Dolby Headphone technology to amplify customers’ audio experience, with surround sound audio from 5.1 channels of sound. For individuals who demand “on demand” functionality, the netbook lets them use their favorite applications quickly with Lenovo QuickStart. From this application, users can listen to music, view photos, send instant messages or even make Skype calls without waiting for their operating system to boot. Users are also only one click away from Lenovo Social, a website designed to help get them up to speed on social networking. “On demand” users will also enjoy VeriFace facial recognition technology, letting them log into the PC with their face instead of having to remember lengthy passwords. With Lenovo’s OneKey™ Rescue System consumers can recover their data if it becomes corrupted in just a few simple steps.

The tool can also be configured to run virus scanning before entering the main operating system to restore damaged files and allow users to back up and recover their data. Additionally, the netbook offers added performance with the latest Intel Atom processor technology, a 10.1inch LED screen and plenty of hard drive storage.

IdeaPad U330
The IdeaPad U330 is a thin and light notebook that’s small on size but big on performance. The IdeaPad U330 offers dual-core processing power in a stylish, yet affordable ultra-mobile package, along with features that make it better to use, including an optical disc drive.

The IdeaPad U330, which comes with an Intel® Centrino® 2 processor, measures at just 23mm in thickness and weighs 1.95kg. For individuals who like their multimedia on the move, the IdeaPad U330 is a perfect option, as it comes with 13.3” High-Def LED backlight display, the latest graphics technology and DDR3 memory, HDMI connector and a Dolby® Home Theater™. This ultra-mobile is also equipped with smart features for easier everyday use, including switchable graphics, OneKey™ Rescue System, Automatic Protection System and VeriFace™ face recognition
