WORLD CYBER GAMES MALAYSIA IS BACK

The PIKOM-organised event offers gamers opportunity to demonstrate their skills and
represent Malaysia at the grand final in Korea

Kuala Lumpur, Tuesday (September 20, 2011) – The World Cyber Games returns to offer gamers throughout the country an opportunity to participate in WCG Malaysia 2011 and win attractive prizes plus represent Malaysia in Korea at the WCG Grand Final in December.

The national level WCG Malaysia 2011 will be held over three days this October 7 – 9 at the newly-opened PIKOM ICT Mall CapSquare in Persiaran CapSquare here. There will be five official game titles, namely StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty, Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne, FIFA 11, Counter Strike 1.6 and League Of Legends. Except for Counter Strike 1.6 and League Of Legends which require a team of five players each, the remaining games are individual events.

This year, more winners can look forward to compete with other world-class players at the four-day WCG grand final in Busan, Korea, from December 8 – 11. StarCraft II, Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne, FIFA 11 and League Of Legends’ national champions will represent Malaysia at the e-Sports Olympics of the world in Busan unlike last year where winners of only two games participated at the global level.

Besides the official games, gamers will also have the chance to demonstrate their skills in two promotional titles, ie Super Dancer Online – Xtreme (SDO-X) and Mission Against Terror (MAT) and be well rewarded. Cash prize of RM20,000 plus other goodies will be presented each to winners of both games.

Registration is now open till September 23, 2011 and all players are required to register at http://my.wcg.com/register to participate in the games. For League Of Legends, SDO-X and MAT, registrations are managed by the Game Publishers but gamers can link to their registration page from WCG’s homepage.

There will be three rounds of qualifiers for Counter Strike 1.6 with the 2nd and 3rd rounds taking place on September 24 and 25 at the MyCORE Centre in Cyberjaya and October 7 at PIKOM ICT Mall CapSquare respectively. A total of 16 teams will vie for the national championship title on October 8 and 9.

This is the 11th year that WCG is being held. Samsung is the Worldwide Partner of WCG 2011, and PIKOM is the Strategic Partner.

马来西亚世界电玩奥运赛再度举行

这项PIKOM主办的盛会不仅为电玩家提供展现技巧的机会，同时亦有机会代表马来西亚出战即将在韩国举行的总决赛

马来西亚世界电玩奥运赛再度举行，为国内所有电玩家提供参与2011 年马来西亚世界虚拟电玩（WCG Malaysia 2011）的机会，除了能够赢取丰富的奖品，玩家还能代表马来西亚出战于今年12 月 在韩国举行的世界电玩奥运总决赛。

2011 年马来西亚世界虚拟电玩将在今年10 月 7 日至9 日开始举行，为期三天，地点位于Persiaran CapSquare，新开张的PIKOM ICT Mall, CapSquare 。这项大赛共有5 项正式的电玩主题，分别为StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty、Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne、FIFA 11、 Counter Strike 1.6 与 League Of Legend。除了Counter Strike 1.6 与 League Of Legends 是5 人一组的电玩，其他电玩都是个人赛。

今年12 月8 日至11 日在韩国釜山举行，为期4 天的世界电玩奥运总决赛，更可见到更多的世界级玩家齐聚一堂一决高低。相比于去年仅两项电玩赢家能出席，今年的StarCraft II、Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne、FIFA 11 与 League Of Legends 的全国冠军，皆能代表马来西亚出战在釜山举行的世界电玩奥运总决赛。

除了正式的电玩，玩家也有机会在Super Dancer Online – Xtreme (SDO-X) 与Mission Against Terror (MAT)中展现他们的技巧。赢家将个别获得2 万令吉的现金奖及其他丰富的奖品。

比赛目前开始接受报名，截止日期为2011 年9 月23 日，所有玩家必须登入http://my.wcg.com/register 写成报名手续，以参加比赛。League Of Legends、SDO-X 与 MAT 的报名手续则是由Game Publishers 负责，但玩家们可从世界电玩奥运赛的主页连接至他们的报名网页。Counter Strike 1.6 将经过三回合的比赛，第二与第三回合分别将于9 月 24 至25日及10 月7 日，在赛城的MyCOR 中心与PIKOM ICT Mall, CapSquare 举行，共有16 支队伍于10 月8 至9 日争夺全国冠军的头衔。

世界虚拟电玩今年已进入第11 个年头，三星（Samsung）是2011 年世界电玩奥运赛的全球伙伴，而PIKOM 则是策略伙伴。
