NIKON introduces its new Advanced Camera with Interchangeable Lens- Nikon 1

Nikon Malaysia is proud to introduce its new Nikon 1 brand, an Advanced Camera with Interchangeable Lens that proposes new forms of imaging expression and enjoyment. The new Nikon 1 brand joins existing Nikon D-series digital-SLR cameras and the COOLPIX brand of compact digital cameras as the third brand in Nikon's digital camera arsenal.

The first two models in the new Nikon 1 series, the Nikon 1 J1 and Nikon 1 V1. Nikon 1 is an advanced interchangeable lens digital camera system that proposes new forms of imaging expression with a new super high-speed AF CMOS image sensor, the new high-speed image-processing engine, EXPEED 3, and the new Nikon 1 mount lens system.
The Nikon 1 mount is the new lens mount system developed for compatibility with Nikon's new imaging format. The new mount not only supports the dedicated 1 NIKKOR VR 10-30mm f/3.5-5.6, 1 NIKKOR VR 30-110mm f/3.8-5.6, 1 NIKKOR 10mm f/2.8 and 1 NIKKOR VR 10-100mm f/4.5-5.6 PD-ZOOM Nikon 1-mount interchangeable lenses, but also F-mount NIKKOR lenses*2, manufactured by Nikon for more than half a century, when the new FT1 mount adapter is used.

During the launch event, General Manager of Nikon Malaysia, Mr. David Ng said “Nikon 1 is a new-category camera of the digital era that is added to the current two lineups of D-series SLRs and COOLPIX-series compact digital cameras. Nikon 1 offers a total new photography experience & value in the market with it‟s ultra high speed autofocus and image processing, excellent movie capability with a new sensor and super image processing engine Expeed 3. It‟s casual but stylish body plus compact lens brings greater portability. With the new photography experience offer by Nikon 1, we don't think there is cannibalization on Nikon DSLR but strongly believe the introduction of this new camera system will further expand the Malaysia camera industry and further strengthen Nikon leader position in the Malaysia market.”
Apart from that, Nikon also introduced 8 new compact cameras include Coolpix AW 100, Coolpix S6200, Coolpix S 6150, Coolpix S4150, Coolpix S1200pj, Coolpix S 8200, Coolpix S100 and Coolpix P 7100.

To further support the new products, Nikon Malaysia is officially launched the “I AM campaign” in Malaysia market. The „I AM‟ campaign aims to portray the Nikon brand to make it more accessible and attractive to customers. All 8 new cameras have a different Nikon I AM tagline which is associated to suit the different „personality‟ and function of the each camera”.

The „Nikon I AM‟ taglines for each of the Coolpix cameras are:

 I am the must have – Coolpix S 6200
 I am Showtime – Coolpix S1200 pj
 I am Fun Touch – Coolpix s 4150

 I am Zoom and excellence - Coolpix s 8200
